Kakashi would mock, but he himself had a bandage across the bridge of his nose where Naruto had stomped his face running from a carnivorous rabbit.

They all looked considerably worse than the kids, in fact.

Naruto and SGA beta?

Hello and happy New Year!

I'm extremely late for my SGA Santa (John/Rodney, PG). If anyone is available tomorrow to beta, that would be much appreciated. I'll have the first draft finished tonight.

And then I'll be able to read the fic written for me. :D

I also have three Naruto Shippuden fics ISO a beta, if there's any interest:

- A comic Shikamaru/Temari piece, PG-13 but with much nudity. ~4k words

- A Sasuke ficlet. PG, Gen. 700 words. Based when he's approached by the Akasuki.

- An epistolary post-Shippuden canon (not Boruto or the films), PG. ~3k words
Sasuke trying to piece himself back together. Naruto tries, Kakashi tries, but it's Sakura who makes headway into his self-absorption. Sasuke/Naruto, Sasuke/Kakashi, Sasuke/Sakura.

My favorite Naruto characters are Naruto, Kakashi, and Shikamaru (and Akamaru). Love the warm and compassionate Iruka, too. But for some reason, like Naruto, I can't help but try to fix what's broken in Sasuke.

I'm taking a break from it because they're doing zombies and I don't like zombies, so I figure I wait till she finishes that section and skim through it.

I have three cats here (one Maine Coon, two former feral fosters).

The feral boys definitely are hunters. (Contessa is more of a fly chaser.) And there's a distinctive pitter-patter in the walls and across the ceiling.

You know, mousies, these cats can climb, and have, and I have seen them get up over the ceiling tiles.

Rough night tutoring

Tutoring last night was rough. I had new students and students who'd been with other tutors suddenly switched to me, so my structure for the sessions couldn't be used.

Then my last session... oy vey. An AP US History teacher was behind, so his student needed to be taught US history, from scratch, from WWII to Reagan. At the same time, I had my ESOL student who's trying to take advanced AP Language English, at the same time, I was trying teach the SAT essay to a third student, and we have a new grader who's harsh-yet-vague in his comments, holding high school students to a college standard. That isn't how you help young writers, and I couldn't get across how these comments were Not At All Helpful.

The session was a disaster, I was upset, and I had to admit -- I couldn't do it. I haven't felt this incompetent in a long time.
