I think that the producers decided to deal with the slash subtext (which I feel is caused by Michael Shanks being, oh not so straight and very attracted to Rick Anderson), by making sure there was a clear het not-so-'sub'text.

We have to talk [livejournal.com profile] melpemone into writing her Jack/Daniel angstfest. :)

The frightening Daniel-sex-change epic sounds kinda fun.

That one is really teasing me. The point is how to deal with a mostly-straight not-inclined-to-'go there' Jack O'Neill. And what happens when Daniel is turned back? Then there's Daniel's complete frustration and the societal mores for men and women, and what happens when Daniel is confronted with them.
