In most animation, they record the voices, then do all the in-betweens (most of the animating). They need to do the voices first so they can time it, and make the animation fit the sound (mouths moving and etc.) It sounds like these three or so episodes were close to being finished - they'd definitely had the voices already done. So that's how they're doing it.
