When I used tampons I used Lil-Lets, which actually expand widthways and so don't leak in the same way as Tampax, but they're no wider when you put them in. And now I am another one of these smug people with a wonderful little silicone cup, so I don't use them either. One of the first times I used it, I found myself working an unexpectedly busy six-hour shift and didn't get time to go to the loo (we got one break early on, I was working on the assumption that there'd be another one later and used it to get breakfast). By the end of the shift I had that incredibly familiar, unpleasantly squishy feeling and disappeared as quickly as I could, only to find that in fact the cup had held up fine, and I'd just been running around so much (in multiple layers of clothing) that I was sweating. Was that TMI? Probably a good place to stop, then.
Edit - I'll change the subject, then. Re the adult content filter thing, if the person viewing the journal is logged in to an account with all the right boxes ticked, it will appear as intended. It will only look stupid if they are logged out, underage, or have 'collapse all remotely adult content' selected on the dropdown menu that they don't tell you about on the settings page. I suspect they're going to have to fix the way those things screw with the cut tags that people put there for a reason, so agefiltering v.2 may well be worth waiting for if you decide it's even worth it at all.
