Battlestar Galactica finale

Now that was a finale.

That is all. My heart breaks that Kara's gone, and had been gone a thousand years. But mathematically it's impossible for the same pattern to repeat indefinitely: yes! I agree.

Why is her body a thousand years old? I don't remember anything about her living previously or a thousand years passing.

You know what? If you want to nickpick about this show, you can. Just not with me. I'm going through too much shit right now to really care all that much.

I'm not trying to nitpick. I'm just confused about what you said. I'm trying to figure out if I just missed some dialogue or if I like really missed something because I wasn't paying attention.

Meh, I'm probably wrong. The body she found back on earth: Earth had been destroyed a thousand years before, ergo I assumed her body was also a thousand years old. This may have more to do my own theories I started spinning back when she found the body.

But again, so much RL shit going, I'm really not caring much about the details. I enjoyed the show and I prefer to just distract myself from my worries.

Awesome. I just got thrown off course by your original comment. I tended to watch the series in bursts and do my best to catch up when I could, so I wouldn't have been surprised if I had missed something.

Good luck on all the RL stuff, btw. Every time I read about it I cringe for you.

Yeah, come to think of it, her body wouldn't have been in such great (recognizable) condition if it were a thousand years old. That's ... two or theories down the drain. *g*

RL stuff: it's sort of like the laundry this past month. The pile just keeps getting higher.

I think Kara just crashed and died on "Earth" the previous year, where everything else had been destroyed by the nuclear war 2,000 years before. Her body still had hair and there was visible dried blood on her dogtags. It was the other stuff that was all ancient. (Though really, after that much time there shouldn't have been even the exposed metal structures and fragments of bone from the former inhabitants that we saw laying around. The only non-fossil signs of human-esque habitation should have been stone structures in arid regions if I'm remembering correctly how fast weathering and oxidation occur...)

Looking back it seems so obviously true. But I grew attached to a theory (Kara was somehow the harbinger of death for Earth) and ignored the holes.
