Merry Smutmas Fic?
Hi there.
merry_smutmas has revealed the writers and artists behind the work.
All hail,
dragon_light who wrote for a witty, smutty and above all playful (just what the doctor ordered) Ron/Draco fic: Missing Out On A Holiday Miracle.
I want to congratulate
isiscolo on her guesses, both successful and unsuccessful, and tell
jeddy83 that I consider it high praise that she thought I'd written Dragons and Broomsticks, a slow-building Harry/Charlie fic that is utterly believable.
jeddy83 has a sparing style that is highly intimate, a wonderful understanding guys and very natural sex. It's hot because you believe it.
Which story did I write?
Well, I sat down to write Snape/Percy smut, and had two stories in mind that kept wrestling with each other. But when
gmth ran out of fics to post, I had a different idea that grabbed me and wouldn't let go:
Behind The Facade. NC-17.
gmth went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me post this. Thank you. *wink* Consider yourself officially let off the hook for that 'Blame Someone Else Challenge.'
All hail,
I want to congratulate

LOL!! It is *so* funny that you should mention this, because I've been thinking about it again recently. There's a Harry/Neville/Hermione challenge up for grabs in the Woobies of Destiny FQF that fits what I was going to write for Blame Someone Else almost exactly (except that you asked for Ron/Harry/Hermione -- nope, I haven't forgotten! :-) ). I'm thinking pretty seriously of picking it up and running with it, since the damn bunny has been nibbling at my heels ever since you suggested it.

We both have a very 'tight' writing style, short sentence lengths, strong reliance on simple past which give it a direct, 'clean' feel.
Your description is light and intimate, which is similar to a lot of my stories, though you have more detail than most of mine -- richer I'd say, and this story is closer in feel to 'Skinny Dipping' and 'A Moment of Sin' than say, oh, 'Guy Talk' or 'Far Too Personal.'
You used first person very well, so that it felt like a third person story. It looked very similar to the style used in 'Beg Me For It' only it was Harry's voice. And that's another similarity: we both rely heavily on character voice to 'colour' the story.
Plus it was an unusual pairing, which I've been known to do. Especially with the Weasleys.
The similarites were striking, and it was a very good guess.
Your word choices were different than mine would be in a lot of places; you generally went for a higher vocabulary level. And you've got a much better feel for sports (though no one but me would know that).
I was pretty astonished at the similarities, enough that I think we should link to each other's sites. Because it's a given that anyone who likes my stories is going to like yours. And vice versa.

I was actually very conscious of 'Skinny Dipping' when I wrote this. There were going to be similarities given that they are Harry/Weasley and set in a similar time frame, but I didn't want it to be a rehash with a different character.
Your comment about the vocab are interesting. I actually did try to tone it down given that it was 14 year old Harry, perhaps my vocab was more extensive at that age.
Because it's a given that anyone who likes my stories is going to like yours.
*cough* Much as I would like this to be true, I rather doubt it. Most of what I've written to this point is Snapledore, so Harry/Charlie is something of a departure from the norm for me. It wasn't something I expected to write, though I certainly enjoyed the challenge. I rather like Harry/Bill as a combination, so maybe I'll find a story along those lines someday.

I'm thinking more along the lines of that spare, efficient sort of writing style. I've done a lot of weird pairings. Er. Hagrid/Buckbeak anyone? How 'bout Percy/Dumbledore?

However, when it comes to Snapledore I really can't go past Delphi's
Hope that's not overdoing the Snapledore. :)
