Annnnd the winner is... the favourite Sushi story.

Okay, guys, the polls have closed, the vote was tight (and funny). New rule: no more 1/2 and 1/3 votes! Icarus' math is not that good. ;)

Beating its nearest competitor by a nose, the winner is:

Civil War

... with 8 5/6 votes (like I said, no more 1/2 votes...)

In Academia ran a close second with 8 votes (including two half votes)
The Last Dance was third with 4 5/6 votes (Icarus goes cross-eyed)
The Beast fourth with 4 (a mercifully round number)

Write-ins did well -
Flight garnered three votes (well, two, but I count the author's vote as two)
Shedding Skin two votes

One vote each for the following -
Two note, many who voted for Civil War give this story a nod.
Fire Burn and Cauldron Double
Welcome to my Nightmare
The Consequences Of A Weary Mind

And I want to apologise to you all. I completely forgot about -

Harry Potter And The Mai Tai Of Doom

A sad, sad oversight on my part. *Icarus votes for Mai Tai ;)*

Ah! I haven't read any of Sushi's major works so I didn't feel qualified to vote, but you're SO right; I should have voted for Mai Tai anyway, if I'd thought of it.

I was wondering why you didn't vote (worried that you might have missed it). Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow. ;)

Er. Regarding the [livejournal.com profile] hpbnfdm_lives. You realise of course that [livejournal.com profile] wikdsushi promised me an actual 12 volume set of her next fic and you see, I've already got the shelf space cleared....

I'm up against Sushi??? Oh, that's wonderful! I can lose to a true icon in fandom and that's SUCH a relief! ^_^

She gives good bribes, too. *points to long line of people lined up for free alcohol -- the way to the voting booths.*

Actually, I think you might be winning. Oh, to have math skills. ;)

Ha! I very much doubt that. You are too solid an icon--and one of the SWEETEST people! Couldn't imagine a nicer contestant to lose to; mmmmmwah!

Is it just me, or did CW win by the sheer might of its steamroller-like mass? ;)

Now I want a mai tai. (It'll help with the twelve volumes.)

Yes, I imagine so. :) But I have to read Flight now. When I'm done with these contests I'll have to ask authors what little-read fic of theirs do they particularly like. Mine is Sweet Hypocrisy (http://www.restrictedsection.org/), Snape/Percy.
