icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Percy Sleeping)

Amnesty fic 4: Now we have Lucius and Percy.

More Percy, anyone?

Geeze, I have a lot of unfinished Percy fics.

This one was written for Dana, but the notes seem to have been lost. I can't find my notebook anywhere. That notebook also has my outline for SNAPE MANOR. It's a slow build romance, NC-17 (but not in this part) and I still feel the muse for this one. I think if I find the notes I'll be able to finish it. Here's a cookie for you, Dana.

Dana's fic.
by Icarus

The Ministry was nearly empty at this hour. Arched windows showed a cool twilight sky, dark blue shading to the last sunset glow. Here and there the golden globe of a lamp still glowed in open offices where someone was bent over a desk, working late.

A slow tap of footsteps echoed down the marble hall, then stopped, outside a particular door.

As usual Percy Weasley was still there, his paneled office as neat as a pin save for a scattering of scrolls, parchments and unfolded memos on his desk. He talked loudly to the fireplace across the room, glancing up from an unscrolling roll of meeting notes. His waste bin scampered off on schedule, seven o'clock, and his last shot at it missed and bounced across the floor.

He continued his conversation in an exasperated tone:

"Yes, yes, honey, I'm going to be late again tonight, but I really don't understand this. You knew my career was demanding."

The oak door opened wider with a slight whine as his visitor stepped in and waited calmly for the end of the argument. He tapped a pair of elegant riding gloves in his smooth, white palm.

A sharp, feminine voice came from the fireplace. "Percy. Don't 'honey' me. I've been patient --"

"-- Aurora, this is ridiculous! Anyway, he's here now. We'll talk later, I promise."

The floating head in the fireplace turned towards the visitor. Aurora's hair was blonde but her eyes brown -- a sure sign the colour was Maribella's Hair Glow. She turned and eyed Lucius Malfoy up and down coldly. "Yes, Percy. We will." Her chin tipped haughtily as the head winked out.

Percy chuckled and smiled at Lucius, shaking his head. "Women. They want to be with a man who's successful but then can't stand the sacrifices you have to make, the time investment." Lucius plucked Percy's cloak from the hat-rack and tossed it to him. Percy caught it deftly, and pulled it on. "You won't believe the latest she's imagined." He straightened his collar under the cloak as he crossed the room, where he held the door for Lucius politely.

"Would you believe," he laughed, "that she thinks I'm having an affair with you?"

"Does she now?" Lucius cast him a toothy smile as they stepped into the long hall.

"Absolutely absurd." Percy rolled his eyes as he fell into step beside Lucius. Those few employees they passed were incurious; it was normal to see the two together. "Anyhow, where are we going tonight?"

"I was considering the Mansfield Inn," Lucius said. His elegant cloak swept the polished marble floor as he walked slightly ahead of Percy. "It is self-consciously 'rustic' which ruins the entire effect, but it has a very good wine list, and is comfortably private. They have a new chef I think we should try."

"Mansfield? Oh dear," Percy fussed with his robes as they stopped at the elevator, peering in the mirrored doors of this level. His reflection was little too jagged for a good look. "Am I quite presentable do you think? I didn't know until this afternoon we were going out again, else I would have brought a fresh change of clothes."

"You'll do." Lucius' eyes were hooded and smug. "You look just fine, Percy."

"Do you think so?" Percy gratefully met his eyes.

"Yes." His voice tinged with amusement.

"That means a lot coming from you."

A slight smile touched the corners of Lucius' mouth, and he gazed up at the numbers on the elevator. "Of course it does."

Ooooh...

Well, if you do decide to continue, I for one, would be very very interested in reading more. ^__^

I would be interested in continuing, because I've never written a slow-building romance before. But there's one setback: I've lost my notebook that had this. I think it got 'put away' during a cleaning spree.

Don't you hate it when you put things away in a completely logical place... and you can't find them later?

"Absolutely absurd."

It is strange how that phrase, in Percy's voice, gets me all hot and bothered and ready to hump something.

It is even stranger that I should know what Percy's voice sounds like.

:D

Please continue. Lucius is so pleasantly carnivorous.

I know! You just want to ravish that prim and bright and full of himself. He needs to have his pants pulled to his needs. And, yeah, I can hear Percy's voice clearly.

I've lost my notes for this though, and there are all these intricate conversation that are like a handful of faded at the moment. I can't quite remember them. Almost. But not quite. I need that notebook back.

Oh YES. When he speaks all primly like that you just want to hear how he moans--how he loses control.

*licks lips*

*barely restrains self from molesting Percy*

And he's dressed all proper too. No wonder Lucius thinks he's edible.

Mmmmgrrrrrmmm...

Whu?

*shakes head*

Okay, enough perving over Percy. Few people can make me react to him the way you do--it's as if I can hear him, see him, and all of a sudden he becomes the most desirable character in fanon. :D

Ooooh, I'm terribly sorry about the notebook. (Read: #$@$*@&!ing notebook!) I'm sure you'll be able to recover some of your ideas, or at least reconstruct them.

Right?

*looks at Icarus hopefully*

Please ma'am, may I have some more? this has such promise, and my goodness, Lucius and Percy...um, yum.

*licks crumbs from fingers*

All I have to do is find that notebook. And get some uninterrupted time. I have a very clingy boyfriend.

Who's making popcorn! Wheee! He's trying to tell me that "no, I'm not making popcorn, what makes you think that?" *pop, pop-pop-pop Pop!* "Not at all."

Hee!

ah, what is lovelier than nice fresh homemade popcorn? I love making mine with olive oil, salt and parmesan cheese. Yummy!

[identity profile] merrycontrary.livejournal.com 2004-02-07 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
Slow building romance, you say? Lucius as in love as Percy? Not just Percy unrequited, Lucius horny? Oh, that would be fabulous!

I shouldn't give any spoilers but... I'm not sure I'll ever see my notes to this again. It's Lucius-as-predator and Percy-with-unwitting-crush but there's a warmth and friendship that builds and builds, enough that Lucius cares enough to warn Percy away from himself. But Percy doesn't listen.

"You've thought of everything."

"No. I never thought you'd take this long."

"I'm sorry..."

No, Percy wouldn't, would he? Poor deluded Percy.

The story still sounds interesting. To bad you can't find those notes.

[livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru insists that I haven't lost them, they're around here somewhere. But I've looked in all the usual places I hide things.

I finished mine, too, if you're still in need of a Percy fix! :)

All I have to do is find that notebook. The next part is a candlelit dinner and some intimate conversation. Augh! I can't believe it's missing.

*springs over to LJ to read*

Um. Where is it again? I can't find it. Did you have a separate LJ for stories, or am I just blind?

Oh yes please do finish/continue this. Blasted notebooks! ::blasts the notebook:: Erm, well that wasn't at all nice of me to do, and it ruined any possible continuation didn't it? ::hangs head in shame::

teeheehee... i like the "absolutely absurd"... yeah, i'd love to read more from this....*sigh* lucius/percy isn't extremely common.. i only find good stuff from you.. whether it be yours or your recommendations...

[identity profile] illium.livejournal.com 2004-02-10 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Dear dear me...
I particularly like "he's here now" like we she should know who's there, which of course she does...
And I love your Lucius. "Of course it does" says he, and I say "yum".
Who am I kidding? I love everyone you write.
