Whee!

There's a floor in my department that has a plant-lined balcony encircling the building atrium. It's on the way to the copier.

Walking back from there with a stack of copies in hand, I was suddenly insipred to toss them in the air over the edge and watch them all flutter to the ground.

I didn't, of course, but I walked back to my desk with a smile. How far would the copies spread? Would the papers continue sliding as they hit the ground? Would people look around, stunned? Would any of the copies hit the fountain?

One day I will send a Ministry of Magic-style 'memo' over that balcony.

I have always wanted to do that, too, walking back from our copy machine, which also overlooks an atrium/courtyard.

Heh, glad to meet someone like this besides my mother. I was beginning to think it was genetic. Mom would let me almost win at Scrabble (when I was 9!), then get this impish look in her eye and suddenly beat me -- like she couldn't help herself -- and start snickering. LOL
