(no subject)

Cross your fingers. I get the final word on that possible 'Good News' in RL at 1:30 today.

Tomorrow morning I have a date with the writing of the next chapter of 'Beg Me For It', SNAFU.

(Please let it go well, please let it go well, someone just gave me a review that they loved 'Hey You' but the time between updates is killing them. *whimpers* It's not a WiP! Other than 'Hey You', these are complete stories in their own right. I will never, ever write WiPs, it's just so horrible to be struggling with a story and then someone beats you over the head asking when the next update is and oh, god, the stress on that RL news is just killing me...)

Look at all my shiney new icons! Thank you Marion. Alas, they will all be gone in six months, since I will never pay for LiveJournal.

Ron, after giving Draco a dirty look, "I'm sure it'll be fine. Sounds like you're worried about nothing, at least to me anyways."

Thank you Zorely, Ron. (Glares at Draco, who only smiles.) Actually, I do have good news.

I said 'fuck it' and scraped up the money to go to school. Just barely. Then some financial aid that I applied for a million years ago came through unexpectedly. Out of the blue.

I'm going to school. Like I've wanted to for 15 years. (Holy shit, I'm gonna have homework again.)

As for the fanfic thing, WIP are so common in HP fandom that they're the rule rather than the exception. Unless a story actually says it's complete or a one-shot, people kind of assume there's more coming. (I once had someone ask me if I'd ever written 'the rest' of "Blind Unto the Day" and I had to gently explain that what was there, was all there was.) Erm... anyway, maybe if you make sure to call them stories in a series when you refer to them?

Percy has grown so much, so unexpectedly. Now I'm working him into SNAFU more.

Thank you. Of course, I've immediately gone from thrilled belief to 'scared shitless.' But it's a done deal. School, here I come. Now I just have to figure out if I should work my class schedule so I can keep my job part-time... can I handle both?

Shhh. *pets the author* Even though I also whimper in anticipation of the next story, I will bide my time and not beat you mercilessly about the head and shoulders with my need.

In the meantime, I loved Hey You. Your Percy makes me very happy and very scared at the same time. I think he's not only surpassed the common two dimensional portrayal, he's gone beyond 3-D and into something new.

Percy is the space-time continuum, dammit!

Also very much in love with the Ron-Draco dynamic.

Oh, it's okay to ask for the next part. This one said she was almost sorry she started the series because the wait between parts was so long. Ouch.

Percy made you scared? Interesting observation. How so? I always joke that Percy is my Mary Sue. He touched my heart in GoF when he rushed into the lake to help Harry with Ron, looking so scared. 'Sweet Hypocrisy' was supposed to be Snape giving ol' Percy a bit of a come-uppance, but Percy surprised me by showing unexpected depth -- a kind of idealism that's rather blind, if still well-meaning. He really caught me off-guard there.

Then I started to fall in love with him in Death Eater Rock, when he showed a little unexpected humour and was more annoyed about his chocolates than Ron and Draco wearing lingerie and make-up. Then... well, Skinny Dipping just put me over the edge.

And Ron and Draco are pretty dynamic together, aren't they? LOL.

I guess Percy makes me scared here (in the context of the Beg Me For It series) because he IS so real. I see the vulnerable side and the side that's positively made of steel. I love him for it, but if he made even one wrong decision, it feels like it would be disastrous, for him personally and for the whole operation. 'Cause when Percy makes that rare mistake, he makes big fat whoppers, not just itty bitty blips on the radar. *If any of this makes any sense at all.*

And yes, Ron and Draco are dynamic in more ways than one. ;)

Well, I haven't exactly announced it. I wasn't planning to, actually, until I'd registered for classes (which I can't do until next week). But, I thought I'd better explain to those I'd complained to. Yeah, I'm done with secretarial work as a career. 15 years is enough.
