New Year's? I take it back.

By the way, I take back all of my complaining about WG falling asleep on New Year's Eve. He was coming down with this flu -- of course he fell asleep. Poor sweetie.

It's 8:48 now and I just looked at myself. I'm curled up on the couch with my legs up, hands curled to my chest, looking somewhat like a dead bug, clinging to my last few hours of winter break.

And I can't do it. I have to go to bed. Only when we're sick do we understand someone else who's sick.

In other news: anyone ever notice that male neighbors are louder than female neighbors? Generally? It's the little things. The unconsciously slammed door. The toilet seat bang. The power saw....

Well, the power saw is a new one on me, but that's definitely a power saw I hear, followed by that definitive clunk of wood hitting the floor (heh, I bet the folks below him are loving that). If I'm awake and it's still running at 10pm, we're going to have a chat. But it begs the question: is he building his own furniture?

[Cue ominous music]

Well, that's one explanation....

Get well soon, hun.

"Is that your friend in the wood chipper?"

lol and thank you.

i've obviously been watching too much Dexter recently, because "building his own furniture" was not my first thought. No.

I hope you get better soon. I know your pain as my boyfriend and I got sick over New Year's too. I'm better, he's not. :/

I've never seen Dexter so I can only imagine....

The unconsciously slammed door.

The only reason the boys in 301 are living to see a new semester is because I've moved to a language house.

They don't notice. Wham! Bang! "What noise?"

Exeption to the rule: When you have an opera singer living in your apartment building. Dear god, please make her sing something other than scales!

And of course, get better soon.

Did I mention he and his brother are in a band? He has... a very strong voice.

Opera... oh, no.

Exception #2: When the people on the other side of your duplex have a feral three-year-old girl who frequently runs around the outside of the house screaming and banging a short 2x4 against the walls.

Yeah, I lived in the classy part of town post-college...

I am familiar with the toilet seat bang. My kids do it all the time. Even as young as 7 & 5, the male species can be loud. Of course, I've heard a few girls who are as equally loud, just in different ways. (the mad at Mom stomp vs. the screeching wail). I think I'll take the stomping. ;)

actually... my male neighbors are quiet. it's the upstairs female neighbor that likes to start moving large pieces of furniture at about midnight almost every night. Last night there was even jumping...

True, the women are the 2am picture hangers....
