All I know is that I heard the star of Torchwood was going around kissing people at Comic Con this year. When Shanks got up on stage, Ben Browder, ah, surprised him.
There are genre television actors that I want to shield from fan craziness so they're not scared off. There are a hardy few who see how crazy fandom can be and appreciate it in all its wacky glory. And then there's Ben Browder, who sees our Crazy and raises us (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5SjJ5_uWa4). (What I wouldn't give for a time machine so I could go to this DragonCon 2007 panel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aTnhO5b8zk) and have that clip cued up on the projection screen...)
I recall commenting once that I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that one of the Stargate RPS fanfic authors was Ben writing under a pseudonym.
John Barrowman goes around kissing pretty much everyone, all the time, from what I've seen. :D I was happy enough with that all by itself, but if he's inspiring other hot guys to do the same, that's doubly brilliant, LOL!
Michael Shanks is a stitch. One of the people at the convention says that Michael asked Browder (what he said wasn't miked but it was evident fron Browder's response) why he did that. Browder answered, "I don't know. It just seemed like a good idea at the time." Heh.
