Question for Out Of Bound(er)s:

Do I cheat?

I have music for Bethany that I really like, but it came out after 1998-99 (long after). I could hunt for different music....

It is lovely. But I've been (mostly) careful about the dates of when songs were released, what was likely to be popular, etc., etc.

Progress first. Hunting for something different could end up stalling your momentum.

You can always go back and change it later. can't you?

For skating programs, I build them around the music. I don't know what the program is going to look like until I hear the music.

On the other hand, I don't have to mention the name of the song. *g* Because, I agree, progress first.

Do whatever will make you less crazy in the long run. If it was me, and I did something I thought of as "cheating", it would just make me twitch until I'd "fixed it". But I am seriously OCD about some stuff.

I went down my music list, and this isn't the first one that's out of its time period. I just didn't mention the name of the song and emphasized John's POV, so the music became less important.

I think the better question is...if you do it, will it bother you later? Figure that out as best you can and then I think you have your answer! (At least, that's the process I always use.) *grin*

see, that probably wouldn't bother me, but references to 'don't ask, don't tell' which are way out of period bug the hell out of me.

So yes, it's all very personal and I agree with the people below who said 'cheat' so as not to lose momentum! (I'm going to reread the whole lot when you finish *g*)
