Non-consensual music.

I am so very sick of music in the park. Every weekend. All. Day. Long. Today we've had mediocre jazz.

Six and a half hours of mediocre jazz.

I want to move. This used to be a quiet neighborhood.

Three things about SGA: The Shrine.

1) Now this is a performance and a half from David Hewlett. Was I impressed with Michael Shanks' multiple personalities in SG-1 season seven? He has been outdone. I believed every millisecond of Rodney's slipping away.

2) John and Rodney, Rodney and John, John/Rodney. That scene on the pier was more than just slashy, it was touching and sweet and exactly the friendship I've loved since season one. At heart these two are teenage boys. Arthur, ha.

2a) That said, Keller/McKay didn't disturb my little slasher's heart one bit. She's sweet enough to ride out Rodney's temperament, smart enough to keep up with him (which Katie never was), and strong enough to stand up to him if need be.

3) What, did the cloak on the jumper suddenly stop working? Hello? In the SGA canon, page 12, section Vii, it clearly states the jumper has a cloak.

Yes, very happy with SGA.

They can't engage cloak through the wormhole, only once they're out. The "smokescreen" was to hide that brief transition so no one goes looking for them. They can't risk doing it again because the Wraith'll know something's up. But it was cloaked for the journey in.

Aha! So the next time they sent a MALP the Wraith would just start shooting. Gotcha.

I loved the pier scene. "Arthur" HA! And the bare feet! So cute.

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Bare feet? I missed the bare feet! I must see it again. (Oh, the hardship.)

[identity profile] rabidfan.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my TV sucks...but it looked like John was bare-foot to me. If I'm wrong I don't really want to know! The image of those bare feet is burned into the smutty portion of my brain!

There were definite toes.

And when did he start wearing the friendship bracelet on his right wrist?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I did notice. (In my mind it's a subtle engagement band that no one else will notice. Rodney has one, too.)

And this was the very first appearance of it, right?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't noticed it before, but that doesn't mean anything, because I didn't notice the adorable bare feet either.

Usually there's a sweatband over it. ;)

Actually, I'm betting that Joe Flanigan just has bony wrists and they're using wristbands and watches and whatnot to cover it up.

Huh - apparently there was also a version where he was wearing shoes

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. I'll be darned. Much better without the shoes, by far. :D

[identity profile] lherelenfeline.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
is this music in the park sanctioned by someone?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, yes, they have permits and everything. Which is why they have the really loud professional sound systems to broadcast it all the more.

[identity profile] lherelenfeline.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
that's bloody inhumane!
Is moving possible at all?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. And we're looking at a place tomorrow and one on Monday.

Cross your fingers.

[identity profile] lherelenfeline.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
and toes.
good luck!
It would good to get away from building manager too.

Agreed, agreed and agreed.

She's sweet enough to ride out Rodney's temperament, smart enough to keep up with him (which Katie never was), and strong enough to stand up to him if need be.
And to stand up for him. I was pleasantly surprised that the writers let her be the one who knew how Rodney would feel.

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's right, she was right about that, wasn't she?

[identity profile] beadslut.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Me, too. Noting also, that albeit unwittingly, Ronon saved the day. And the Rodney.

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He did, didn't he? Yes, many things about this episode made me very, very happy.

[identity profile] khyrra.livejournal.com 2008-08-28 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Can someone please explain the Arthur line to me? I feel like I'm missing some reference here, or was it just Rodney pretending to forget John's name? Am I just being incredibly dense?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2008-08-28 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
John pretended that Madison's name was Betty, teasing Rodney. Minutes later, Rodney pulled the same joke on John, pretending to forget his name.

*g*

the whole music thing is like how when i put my feet on the floor of my 2nd story apartment, its vibrating with some kind of techno being blasted by my downstairs neighbors.
at the very least, when they're blasting it under my room at 1am, and i'm getting ready for bed, i just knock on the floor loudly, and they turn it down to a bearable level.
