Snarfing Who

Snarf, v. (snarph')

To snarf (inf.). To gobble, to devour, to consume rapidly, as in "I snarfed a dozen Dr. Who episodes in one day."

Responsibilities? What are those? *g*

Next on the menu: cookies for breakfast.

Yep. No fanfic bunnies, especially not with my SGA epic looming.

I'm not far into the fic side of Who. I find it physically challenging to read bad Ten fic. I literally can't stay in my seat. Urk.

I did get a great Dexter/New Who drabble prompt that I might write after I'm done my essays...

my SGA epic looming

Is that OoB, or a new epic?

Out Of Bounds. I'm so close but I'm taking Sanskrit this quarter and that takes a lot of study time.

[identity profile] schmevil.livejournal.com 2009-02-22 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm in my last year, heading into my last semester and gearing up to write my thesis. I'm also petitioning my uni. I have noooo time for fic. Which is too bad, since I have two novellas started.

Just look forward to how awesome it's going to be to have a good grade in Sanskrit, and eventually, a finished AU epic.

I'm just chipping away at it in little bits and pieces. I have the end written. I have all but four scattered scenes written. I had all but five scattered scenes written last week, but I managed to fit in another scene on Friday using Dr. Wicked.

Hopefully once crunch time is past I'll have a chance to do some writing, but who knows. Damn school. The summer maybe? *g*

but I managed to fit in another scene on Friday

Nice. I'm hating you.

I used this:

Dr. Wicked's Write or Die (http://lab.drwicked.com/writeordie.html).

Very effective. I don't know if what I wrote sucks or not, but at least it's moving forward.

[identity profile] schmevil.livejournal.com 2009-02-23 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I'll start using that when I'm finding excuses to avoid essays.

[identity profile] elizabeth-rice.livejournal.com 2009-02-23 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
What an idea! Is it effective if I typed a bunch of nonsense words just to shut the alarm? :)
I was just testing it, so I guess it doesn't count.

Spacebar works too, but it does keep you moving anyway.

::bounces:: So how far are you? Which episodes have you watched? What do you think?

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Just finished the end of season three. And that dreadful Titanic Christmas special (which WG called a waste of an evening and he is so right).

Summation: Rose is a total Marysue, but sometimes ballsy and amusing (they were so spunky and playful together, like two kids playing hookie).

I liked Martha but didn't buy her supposed crush on the Doctor one minute (were the writers watching the show?).

I love the Daleks ("Ex-TERM-in-ATE!"), especially when they're trash-talking the Cybermen, but at a certain point the last Dalek has to be gone. The final episode of season three was a tad overdone but Tennant still made tear up over the last Time Lord. And Tennant has the most beautiful eyes.

My favorite episode so far was the one with the little girl who got taken over by that space being, who'd draw kids and they'd get stuck in the drawings.

Worst episode? The Titanic. So aptly named. It's like they were trying.

I actually liked parts of "Voyage of the Damned," for all it was determined to beat us with the Angst Hammer. Remember, THE DOCTOR IS A LONLEY GOD AND CAN NEVER BE HAPPY.

And you're about to start the Donna season! EEEE! ::flails::

Some shows can do this to you... And cookies are a nice follow up :)

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, indeed. Unfairly, WG has asked for piece and quiet tonight. We just watched the Titanic ep and he calls it, "A waste of an evening."

Ouch. It wasn't one of my favorites, but "waste of time" is still kind of harsh... ;)

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
WG isn't all that into Dr. Who, sort of take it or leave it about the show to begin with. I do agree that the Titanic ep was a waste of an evening.

Snarf (n). Irritating creature on Thundercats.

[identity profile] icarusancalion.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I think I've heard of the Thundercats. It's a cartoon, right?

[identity profile] bluemoon02.livejournal.com 2009-02-24 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
It is indeed. A baaaaad cartoon, which I loved when I was a kid.
