An Archive Of Our Own: progress report

Chipping away at uploading the older stories. 53 of my fics are now uploaded to An Archive Of Our Own.

96 to go.

The Beg Me For It series is now up at the Archive.

I've taken "Celebrate Life" out of the flow of the story, although I will upload it as a separate fic within that universe. I've done the same with the 20 or so drabbles.

Question: would you like me to do the same on my website? Am I right that it's irritating to have to plough through a series of drabbles to get to the next part of the series?

I'm not quite sure what you mean about your website, but I like tags for a series that show all the stories and drabbles in the order they were written.

For example, your "Out Of Bounds" tag. That's how I find out if there's anything new or anything I've missed.

I'm sure this doesn't help you at all. Sorry. =>}

Okay, I wasn't clear. I don't mean LJ. But you might be interested in the project.

You're probably familiar with (but maybe not) the "An Archive Of Our Own" project, here: http://archiveofourown.org/

It's a multi-fandom archive founded and owned by a fandom board. It's still in beta testing but the game plan is to have a place for all of fandom that won't be subject to the vagaries and deletions of LJ (or the predatory money-making of the defunct FanLib).

You're probably also familiar with (but maybe not) my website, here: http://www.icarus.slashcity.net.

Out Of Bounds is not uploaded to any archives, but there is an all-chapters-in-one-file version on my website, here: http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/stories/outofbounds.html

Now I'm currently uploading my old Harry Potter stories (you may not even know I wrote in that fandom) to the "Archive Of Our Own."

Beg Me For It was a popular Ron/Draco AU in HP. There were six parts, with a lot of drabbles and side stories, a soundtrack (http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/soundtrack.html), translations (http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/fictranslations.html), and fan art (http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/artpage.html).

On my website I don't have it in one file like Out Of Bounds, I have it linked together. Which means you have to go through a bunch of 100-word drabbles to get to the next chapter.

Ah well. It irritates me, so I probably should change it whatever anyone thinks.

I don't read in the Harry Potter fandom, but thanks for the info just the same. =>}

I'm very happy to have the Out Of Bounds link. Thanks. Does that include right up to the part you posted on February 8th, in which John skates outdoors on a pond? I love that part. =>}

I like to read the OoB drabbles, and like reading them in order with the rest of the story, if it's possible. =>}

Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me!

There I go with my lack of clarity again. Out Of Bounds is much bigger than Beg Me For It. There aren't any drabbles for Out Of Bounds, but it's easily twice as long as anything else I've ever written. :)

Don't worry. I'm more than a little dozy about these things. =>}

But the pond skating isn't in the big file yet, is it?

Just wondering. Thanks. =>}

I DO so love Out of Bounds. =>}

I was focused on pumping out as much of Out Of Bounds as I could, so temporarily neglected updating my site at all for a while. I'm updating Out Of Bounds on the site now though. :)

That's great! Thanks! *g*
