The final push.

Dropped off two final exams. Now the last push...

... and I crashed after being up all night. I have so much to do I don't know where to start.

- Study for Sanskrit exam at, ow, 8:30am tomorrow
- Finish the three, ow, Sanskrit assignments that I fell behind on due to WG's injuries
- Write the last four pages of my (rather fun) Asian History paper, whew

I haven't yet figured out how to register on a site I can't read. I'm figuring... babelfish.

Oops. The Russian site knows I have a US IP address. Bummer.

Looks like registration is here

http://sportbox.ru/registration

and the boxes are
email
password
repeat password
pseudonym (presumably username)
and probably an agree to ToS

Okay, good, thank you. I take it you read Russian?

It doesn't like Yahoo accounts, but gmail works just fine and dandy.

Heh. I sound out Russian and thus can find homonyms, but mostly it's that in trawling through sports sites looking for like, women's basketball scores in Poland, I've found that bizarrely, a hell of a lot of these sites name their pages in English.

So, like, the link "isfdriwsg turekrksht" and when you mouseover it, the link that shows at the bottom of the browser is "contact.htm" or something.

For my part, I'm just going to have to do a lot of cut-and-pasting into altavista's bablefish.

It's actually better when the commentators speak some other language. The commentary is usually more disruptive than helpful.

Oh, damn, it doesn't work. They check the IP address to make sure it's coming from the Russian federation.

Everything is streamed in English at www.cbcsports.ca :P

I haven't logged in to watch, but they run coms on the actual CBC about it, so I guess it should be easy enough to figure out.

Either that or I'm horribly missinformed... which is a possibility.

Here's the sched:

on the right hand side of the main page, there's a schedule... when it goes live, there'll apparently be a link that says 'watch live'. I got this info for hockey games, but I figure it'll be the same for skating.

Right on. Thank you.

And according to [livejournal.com profile] skinscript you can use a peering site so it's accessible to we lowly Americans.

Unfortunately, CBC Sports is Canada only - or it was last time.
I know of a peering site - PM me for the details. It is an excellent site (and was how I watched the Euro Cup last year). It has lists of TV streams from all over the world, and facilitates those streams which are typically hosted by peers. You can stream directly though mediaplayer, or you can download a stream facilitator (like TVAnts) that is required for some sites. Because the streams are unauthorized there is no checking regions.

Done. Sent you a PM. Wow, I appreciate this. You have no idea. There is fsvids.net but they don't show the entire competition, just individual skaters.

Important to note - this is for live viewing. I don't think they have archives. :)
