I just got an email from them stating:

That the "error" in cataloging was both ham-fisted and embarassing for a company that prided itself on customer service.

That it didn't affect just gay and lesbian books but health, sexuality, reproduction and erotica.

That it wasn't just the US affected but that it was a global problem.

That many books had been returned to proper status and that they were working to restore the rest and to ensure that such an "accident" never happened again.
