It's probably the swelling happiness of the cats and my uncle looking forward to my aunt coming home today -- or perhaps it's because tomorrow is Losar, the Tibetan New Year -- but today has the air of a holiday.

It's a Tuesday, and I work tonight. But happiness is in the air and I accept, though it's incomprehensible to me.

I've had a decent rest for the first time in several days. Am recovering nicely from another spate of insomniac ways. Good to sleep six or seven hours and not three or four. Better to be up at eight am. Good morning, morning.

The birds are fed, I have apples for the deer, and I had the opportunity to provide potatoes in a nice soup brought down to DC for the Occupy DC folks. Good people. They share with the homeless. They've bravely withstood the winter and crackdowns, and despite a Superbowl weekend raid from police wearing riot gear (plus rather absurd Hazmat suits) -- Occupy DC stands firm. ::salutes them::

Our temple is supplying food five days a week (Ani Palmo's the main cook), but another church is doing it this Friday.

I'd still like to buy them bivvy pads, though maybe they don't need them now. Since they can't camp in the park a church has offered them space to sleep. The Occupy kids are taking shifts through the night; part of the group maintains their vigil, while another group sleeps, and so on.

The kitty boys are stalking each other (Rothy being the main culprit while Junior aims to slink by). They both need to see an after school special on bullying, sigh.
