- original character sketches

Do not forget to sign up for the [livejournal.com profile] percy_ficathon!

This is odd. Is anyone else able to access their reviews on Fiction Alley?

Someone reviewed Your Friendly Neighborhood Death Eater there and I can't pick it up. I checked a few of my other stories, and a few by other authors, and it seems the review function has been turned off entirely.

ETA: Cool. Fiction Alley's review function is back up and running.

[livejournal.com profile] trakkie asked in the last post what happened to Percy and Draco after the events in Zen Taxi?

Naughty Secrets - (very) NC-17 - Percy/Draco. It's amazing the things you find lying around. )

Yep. The story that wouldn't die. Now I have to decide if I force it to dabble along in real time or allow the time-jumps it wants to do.

The Albatross is here.
Part 1.
Part 2.

Percy/Snape. Unnamed backstory from The Albatross: The truth comes out. Or at least some of it. )

You know, I think this is going to be rather long. I tried to avoid writing this, but it just wouldn't go away. I may start posting it on ff.net where I can tinker with impunity. The bloody thing has about 35 scenes outlined but there are all these time jumps and it's driving me a bit nuts. I ran it by WG doubtfully, and he liked this part so... *shrug.* Okay. It messes up the next part but oh yeah, I remember what it's like dealing with chaptered fics again.

The Albatross is here and the other part is here.

More of that Percy/Snape backstory to The Albatross. )

I dunno. What am I doing writing hurt/comfort? I hate hurt/comfort.

Thinking out loud here...

The goal with the Percy archive is to provide a central place for Percy fics of all types, shapes and sizes. That means Het, Gen, Slash, all pairings, all warnings -- everything.

I reserve the right to reject any story for any reason. That said, this is at present the only active Percy archive. I want to see the shape and size of this fandom and encourage it to grow.

Naturally, the authors I persue and ask to house their Percy fics will only be those I prefer. But pairings I don't read are very welcome.

I want to avoid becoming an ff.net-style archive, however, plus we need to make sure the stories are Percy-focused. To that end I've hired little elfs to scan each fic (briefly) for a Percy focus, and to check for basic spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Stories with errors will be returned politely to the author for corrections. (If a story is returned, please don't ask the elfs to iron their hands. They are merely doing their jobs.)

Quality is important because an archive is not only for the writers but the readers as well. Percy readers are a delicate and discriminating lot, who may have palpitations and come to lasting harm should they encounter too many grammatical errors.

Do please have a Percy-level beta for your stories. With any luck, the elfs will never need to send back a single one.

Percyness: The Percy Weasley Archive is finally here. Yes, I've been a busy little bee today and yesterday. All the Percy Fic-A-Thon stories have been moved to a special (now searchable!) section on the archive. The archive design is by the nefarious [livejournal.com profile] femmequioxtic (who probably thinks I was never going to get to this), artwork by [livejournal.com profile] lizardspots.

84 106 Percy stories (so far)
51 Percy authors (so far)
Same Percy channel

[livejournal.com profile] hailiebu of the Unpronounceable Name has started a Percy Weasley Fuh-Q-Fest with stories to be hosted at the archive.

Spread the word. Upload your stories. Write mad Percy porn. [livejournal.com profile] killerbeautiful, [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre, oh keepers of lists... are there any great stories I should request? [livejournal.com profile] cedarlibrarian said yes to hosting The Palmer Method, [livejournal.com profile] ursule, [livejournal.com profile] zortified, [livejournal.com profile] atrata and [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin all said yes. Just emailed [livejournal.com profile] prillalar and [livejournal.com profile] kay_taylor.

I've been telling people there's a large planet-sized backstory to The Albatross. This is the beginning of it.

I've lost all ability to see my stories at the moment, still utterly demoralized from a bashing at a writer's group. I didn't know the editor was going to be reading the stories we'd brought (or I would have brought something other than Keego Harbor), nor did I know he was going to hold them up and ridicule them to the rest of the group.

How bad was it?

Normally I produce at least two fanfics per month. I haven't written a single story of any length since August. I'm generally a fast writer (Beg Me For It was written in six hours, not counting the outline). It is now taking me an hour per paragraph as I Scourgify each one, plop it on the table, and sigh that it's shit and should never see the light of day.

Anyhow, despite this, I've finally managed to cough up some fic -- largely because most of it was written before the writing group. Here you go. *Icarus heaves a sigh of depression.*

No title yet, just the beginning of the backstory to The Albatross - Percy/Snape )

The Percy fandom is getting organised!

Step right up and pander your favourite (or your own) Percy-fics to [livejournal.com profile] killerbeautiful's a comprehensive Percy listing.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] anna_liisaslyth is creating a Percy archive, updates to be posted at [livejournal.com profile] percy_courage. Of course there's always new fic and art to be found at [livejournal.com profile] percy_fans.

[livejournal.com profile] cheshyre has been maintaining the Percy/Malfoy list.

Now please, please somebody keep me from starting a [livejournal.com profile] percy_prophet newsletter.

I almost lost this little story, written last June. I'm afraid it needs its larger context, since [livejournal.com profile] niko_molokov is an OC, paired with [livejournal.com profile] interiminister (Percy). But I rather like Niko's intensity.

ETA: Background. This is a backstory for [livejournal.com profile] hp_dungeons. Deep background in story form is here -- The Pensieve and here -- Fanning The Flames. (Note: since they're backstories, these are a tad unpolished.)

Following the events in those two stories, Percy realized he couldn't keep Lucius, and ran off to Lithuania with Niko (using all of his vacation time).

Niko's father passed away while Percy was there, so Percy stayed on to help Niko deal with the mess that was the Molkov family finances, changing careers to work for the International Confederation of Wizards. Niko's family was virtually ruined, and the only job the young ex-Death Eater could do was ... well, Percy looked the other way.

Then the political in-fighting among the various Lithuanian wizard families began. Niko, not much of a politician, resorted to threats and then Dark Magic, opening part of a competing family's lands to Faerie (something which can't be undone). The other families banded together and filed a lawsuit saying that since Niko was with Percy, he was to be considered in effect infertile and unable to produce an heir. That meant they could confiscate the Molokov family lands.

Niko kept all of his, er, self-inflicted troubles from Percy, but Percy found out anyway. So while Percy worked to endear himself to the Lithuanian notables, Niko sought a powerful alliance with the re-emerging ghost of Voldemort.

Or so he thought. In reality, Lucius Malfoy cooperated with Dumbledore and, using the link of the Dark Mark and blood, came up with a method to seal Voldemort in a ghostcatcher. Niko misread Lucius' vague letter requesting his assistance. He found himself confronted with Albus Dumbledore and a group of Death Eaters prepared to put Voldie away. Niko had no choice but to cooperate, essentially sinking the nails into his own coffin.

This is Niko's return home after that night.

Title: Two Way Mirror
Rating: Truly NC-17
Pairing: The rather intense Percy/Snape
Wordcount: 2,792.5
HBP spoilers like you wouldn't believe. If you want non-spoilery Percy/Snape, read this instead.
Summary: Wizarding gloryholes, unromantic sex and gritty, anonymous encounters under the shadow of war. A fugitive is at risk of being believed.
Author’s Note: Thank you to the ever-insightful [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre, world-renowed expert on Percyness, and to [livejournal.com profile] dphearson for her enthusiasm. Also a call-out to [livejournal.com profile] killerbeautiful for her prompt reply (do you want the next one?). ETA -- almost forgot. Seven Shoe Alley belongs to CLS (my absolutely fabulous beta from Primer to the Dark Arts) from her Marauder-era Stag Night, which you really ought to read.

A little ficlet to spread the Percy love, with a warm thank you to [livejournal.com profile] hydaspes. This story was really dull (and stuck) until your suggestion this morning that changed everything.

This story is completely HBP compliant, according regulation 471, section 8, dash 12.

In the news (am I the only person who visualizes a spinning globe as I type that>):

- HP Recycles is recycling Percy fics. Check out The Seduction of Percy Weasley. Oh yeah, I remember that one.
- [livejournal.com profile] hp_dungeons has more Percyness (I couldn't resist).

And it seems like a good time to launch Percyness: The Percy Weasley Archive.

But wait! How do I upload the stories from the Percy Fic-A-Thon (those of you who know eFiction)? I've tried to do it under Admin and it hasn't worked.
