I made this list for someone else. Perhaps others might like it as well.

Some of my favorite Percy fics, in no particular order. Not exactly a rec-list since I haven't explained anything, but here you are anyway:

Third Party Loyalties

Unlocking Doors

Stockholm Syndrome

He's All That

Perfect

Romantic Fiction

Hello, Percy fans.

Percyness is still up and running nicely. I've discovered that some spammers were abusing the review function so we at Percyness have turned off anonymous reviews and deleted a suspicious account or two (the ads for viagra in the profile were a none-too-subtle clue).

Spammers must read the stories and review with comments on the story, please and thank you. We at Percyness have no need for gambling services since Percy does not approve of anything other than conservative, stable investments in well-established Wizarding businesses, like the blue chip Malfoy Enterprises, Inc.

Enjoy the stories, while house-elfs go through and delete all the spam.

ETA: Oh, for Pete's sakes. Even with anonymous reviews turned off Percyness is still getting spam. All reviews are temporarily turned off until we can find the hole in our security. To those writers who've been getting spam reviews, all we can say is: our apologies and *sigh.*

On the Percyness Archive...

Percyness is now allowing anonymous reviews. Apparently, it was a pain in the neck to figure out how to review since Percyness required that you first have an account. Discouraging reviews is not at all our intention.

We have the utmost confidence in the courtesy and manners of the Percy audience. Please inform the Ministry at once if this confidence is misplaced.

In the process, we have discovered several inactive Percyness accounts with no stories. The Ministry has sent a notice to the inactive accounts to give them a week to upload a Percy-related story, after which time, for the sake of tidiness, the inactive accounts shall be deleted. The authors' list should only include authors.

Thank you for your consideration.

Over the last several months I've received stories at Percyness: The Percy Weasley Archive that were of questionable quality.

Many of them were completely unbeta'd and written with the care you'd put into sketching a fic on the back of a cocktail napkin. Some had formatting so strange the story was unreadable. I'm not speaking to the person who uploaded their story as a solid block of text.

I've struggled with some truly bad poetry. Other stories were borderline. They seemed to be beta'd, but consisted of minimalist verbal tags floating in a sea of nothing, or epithets overused to a point that it seemed dozens of people occupied the bed and not just two. There were excellent characterisations of Percy with all other characters as cardboard cut-outs dancing around him.

It has stretched my original policy of "accept everything if it's at least beta'd" to the breaking point.

I didn't want to be the arbiter of taste. But neither do I want to host an archive of stories no one would want to read. Where does one draw the line?

What do you think? What do you want in an archive?

Icarus Slash Fiction

and

Percyness

are down.

I just heard from Slashcity and they had a major attack today. The sites should be up soon but they're checking first to make sure that their security wasn't compromised.

ETA: Okay, they're both back up and seem to be working fine. Bummer this happened on a day that Sonic Boom was recced over at [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec. Hopefully people still had a chance to read it.

Thinking out loud here...

The goal with the Percy archive is to provide a central place for Percy fics of all types, shapes and sizes. That means Het, Gen, Slash, all pairings, all warnings -- everything.

I reserve the right to reject any story for any reason. That said, this is at present the only active Percy archive. I want to see the shape and size of this fandom and encourage it to grow.

Naturally, the authors I persue and ask to house their Percy fics will only be those I prefer. But pairings I don't read are very welcome.

I want to avoid becoming an ff.net-style archive, however, plus we need to make sure the stories are Percy-focused. To that end I've hired little elfs to scan each fic (briefly) for a Percy focus, and to check for basic spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Stories with errors will be returned politely to the author for corrections. (If a story is returned, please don't ask the elfs to iron their hands. They are merely doing their jobs.)

Quality is important because an archive is not only for the writers but the readers as well. Percy readers are a delicate and discriminating lot, who may have palpitations and come to lasting harm should they encounter too many grammatical errors.

Do please have a Percy-level beta for your stories. With any luck, the elfs will never need to send back a single one.

I could use a little help on a project for the Percy archive. (Crys? Are you still interested?)

One of the reasons I asked [livejournal.com profile] hp_femme for help in setting up an eFiction site (and she leapt on it, doing all the work) is that I needed a better way to link to the authors' personal websites. I had a page for websites but it was incomplete and too difficult to navigate. So the Percy Fic-A-Thon writers have done without an easy means to find their work for the better part of a year.

Would someone be willing to compile a list of websites for the Percy Fic-A-Thon authors? I just need a Word file with the author's names and the URL to their site (or Skyehawke account or...).

Thank you in advance.

Percyness: The Percy Weasley Archive is finally here. Yes, I've been a busy little bee today and yesterday. All the Percy Fic-A-Thon stories have been moved to a special (now searchable!) section on the archive. The archive design is by the nefarious [livejournal.com profile] femmequioxtic (who probably thinks I was never going to get to this), artwork by [livejournal.com profile] lizardspots.

84 106 Percy stories (so far)
51 Percy authors (so far)
Same Percy channel

[livejournal.com profile] hailiebu of the Unpronounceable Name has started a Percy Weasley Fuh-Q-Fest with stories to be hosted at the archive.

Spread the word. Upload your stories. Write mad Percy porn. [livejournal.com profile] killerbeautiful, [livejournal.com profile] cheshyre, oh keepers of lists... are there any great stories I should request? [livejournal.com profile] cedarlibrarian said yes to hosting The Palmer Method, [livejournal.com profile] ursule, [livejournal.com profile] zortified, [livejournal.com profile] atrata and [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin all said yes. Just emailed [livejournal.com profile] prillalar and [livejournal.com profile] kay_taylor.
