The Percy fandom is getting organised!

Step right up and pander your favourite (or your own) Percy-fics to [livejournal.com profile] killerbeautiful's a comprehensive Percy listing.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] anna_liisaslyth is creating a Percy archive, updates to be posted at [livejournal.com profile] percy_courage. Of course there's always new fic and art to be found at [livejournal.com profile] percy_fans.

[livejournal.com profile] cheshyre has been maintaining the Percy/Malfoy list.

Now please, please somebody keep me from starting a [livejournal.com profile] percy_prophet newsletter.

I shouldn't be commenting, since I'm not a Percy fan (though there are some stories I love, including your post-HBP Snape/Percy, and I didn't say so, shame on me). However, I view fragmentation of information sources with alarm. The creation of many fragments seems to end in the death of rather a lot of them. But there's nothing surer than that I can't stop the future rolling over us!

What would another newsletter add to the existing Percy resouces? (That's a serious rather than rhetorical question.) But if you want to do it, take a punt and see how it works out.

I actually don't want to do a percy_prophet newsletter. I just don't think my schedule will allow me to keep up with it. I'm tempted, but I have to be realistic.

I think multiple archives is a good idea. Each archive is like a different market for fics, with a different kind of readership. But what do you think?

I've no problem with multiple archives; they are, as you say, very helpful if you want the fix of the day. I don't see that as what a newsletter necessarily does, though. If this flock of prophetses are simply archives, more power to them! I just don't want to have to check them all out for news if all other newsletter mods start thinking, 'oh, that's so-and-so's gig, I won't include that.'

Just wait patiently and I'm sure someone will start a(nother) Percy archive for you. You run a good one now. Better to write Percy, I should think; not so many people do that, and I can't think offhand of anyone more capable (that's not a giant compliment, as I don't read a lot of Percy, but I'm more likely to read yours than most).

I rather like the pairing-centric newsletters. If someone wants to take the time of gathering together the specific fics and artwork that feature my favorie pairing, the less work for me! I actively seek out particular pairs when the mood strikes me, so if another is already dedicated to the task, all I can say is thank you :)

I love the idea, too. I've been trying to rope someone into it, but no takers as yet. ;)
