icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Percy glows)

I'm told I've improved as a writer. That's a good thing, too. I look back at some of my early stuff and go... oh boy.

Here's the order I wrote these (more or less):

- The Lord of the Rings series.
- An Irresistible Photo
- Primer to the Dark Arts
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Death Eater
- A Moment of Sin
- Hagrid's Hut
- Unexpected Guest
- First Signs of Magic: Hermione Granger (I had to clean my mind out with a toilet brush after Unexpected Guest, heh.)
- First Signs of Magic: Draco Malfoy
- Ante Up!
- Sweet Hypocrisy
- Beg Me For It
- Scarred
- Not My Affair 1-5
- Reunion
- First Signs of Magic: Severus Snape
- Drunken Domesticity
- Sex, Drugs and Death Eater Rock
- (various Beg Me For It drabbles)
- An Opening (aka, A Deserving Man)
- Rising Sun
- Animagick
- Guy Talk
- Name Dropping
- Oh, What The Hell (written when OotP came out)
- Skinny Dipping
- Hey You
- Special Delivery
- At Fauntleroy and Diagon Alley
- Weasley and Weatherby
- A Scandalous Interview
- Far Too Personal
- Snape Manor - prologue
- 14 Drabble challenges
- Not My Affair 6-8
- A '57 Vincent And A Red-Headed Boy
- [livejournal.com profile] interimminister stories, which is about 250 pages.
- Unnamed Lucius/Percy chan
- Percy/Dumbledore drabble
- Zen Taxi

Hey - wake up. That was interesting, wasn't it?

Hey, I thought it was interesting! I can't believe how much you've written.... I was all proud of myself for uploading my 11th fic to my website last night, and lookit YOU.

It's on now, missy! ::goes off to write something, anything::

By the way, I've been meaning to say for ages...as a closet Ron/Draco fan (my secret beloved ship), I loved "Beg Me For It." I actually ran across it a while ago before I knew you, and though "Ooooooh, this is nifty"; I didn't realize it was yours until a few days ago, when mctabby mentioned something and I found the equally lovely sequels. Mmmmmm yummy. Love the Ron/Draco, and love how in character Ron feels despite the tensions of working for the bad guys while still (mostly) being a good guy. Yeah! Plus it's hot. Bwhahahahaa. Awesome on all scores. Thank you and good night. When do we get the next real chapter after Hey You, though?!?

And Icarus surges into the lead trails behind [livejournal.com profile] wikdsushi... [livejournal.com profile] brigantia_'s pulling around the stretch...

Well, some of these are pretty short. I guess I'd better start writing again, huh? Because I haven't been able to untangle [livejournal.com profile] hp_dungeons into something comprehensible.

Thank you! *beams* I just uploaded one more tidbit from this universe, Six Week Charade (http://home.earthlink.net/~dinkbird).

When do we get the next real chapter after Hey You, though?!?

[livejournal.com profile] fourth_moon has just been helping me with some ideas and it seems to be coming together. But SNAFU is aptly named. Wow, what a struggle.

I think you've got a faulty link somewhere in the Harry/Tom Riddle section; anything I click on below that heading takes me to the same Harry/Tom drabble!

(which is quite nifty, but frustrating for someone scrambling to get to her R/D fixation)

That's weird. I haven't been able to recreate the problem. Is it the site map that you're clicking?

It's here anyway - Six Week Charade (http://www.livejournal.com/users/icarusancalion/95906.html).

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

You're torturing other people with THE LIST!

*giggles madly*

The difference between primer, which I read again last night and liked (but was not completely overwhelmed) and something like Zen Taxi where my reaction was *Gah, Thud, Reach for respirator*, was in the choice of language, in primer you told a story, start to finish, in zen taxi you painted an amazing picture, and left a lot more up too my mind, and you had the lovely *thud thud* which drove me crazy!

Oh and btw - it was 6am when I messaged you, so I really did go to sleep :)

*hugs*
*whips icarus into writing more*

You want to see a difference? Click on the Lord of the Rings stories.

I deliberately copied the detailed descriptions of Tolkien, but after the LotR fics I changed my writing style completely. I studied what worked for online fanfic and came up with an entire writing theory based on what I liked to read.

Nope, not the site map. In the long list of links, everything above the first Harry/Tom story leads to individual nifty things, but every after leads back to that one Harry/Tom story, which is why I suspect a broken link someplace. I am using Mozilla rather than MIE, dunno if that'd make a difference here.

Woot! *goes to read cookie*

Mozilla that might be the problem, but I'll check again. The links were working for me, though the page is displaying the Harry/Tom link wrong in MIE (it's missing a space).
