Let's go beta-ing
Feb. 11th, 2004 10:58 pmNatalie sent me the next chapter of her Percy fic. Yay! Time to beta Percyness.
Just got back the two betas of the next chapters of my Reunion, chapters 3 and 5. Hmm. Probably should finish chapter 4 now, shouldn't I? If only Harry and Ron would stop rambling.
The newspaper really liked my WTO/Offshoring article. Very good. Just have to get the permission of the two House Rep. to use their quotes.
Feel good today. Everyone was fighting in the journalism class -- a war between the managing editor and one of our main writers, though it was really a flashpoint over deadlines. Before it devolved, I cut everyone off, wrote down the main points at issue and then gently referreed the rest of the class. Had the gentle guy who's running the newspaper thank me after class, "you did great in there." The teacher thanked me as well, asked me if I thought the newspaper would survive till the end of the term.
It's been really stressful because the paper printed a heavy hitting article on sex offenders that ruffled a lot of feathers, and there were three weeks where one of the faculty threatened to sue. So nerves are a little thin.
Glad I could help.
