Cursed Artefacts For Sale Harry/Snape, PG-13, is now up on Fiction Alley.

Humour, magic and an established, snarky relationship as Harry is dragged to a Wizarding auction by his rather mad lover. "Collecting Cursed Artefacts is a registered form of madness in the Compendium of Wizarding Mental Disorders and Other Things That Make You Twitch," Severus said, "like most compulsions to collect. But it's very a popular one and I plan to beat everyone else to it."

Part of the Primer to the Dark Arts universe.

Spent a lot of time on Percy (keep those Percy Ficathon sign-ups rolling in!), and on Ron/Hermione today.

There was a universal complaint on 'Checkmated' that The Hat Trick left them hanging! I have an epilogue (half) written to tie up the loose ends -- but, I don't, really. Sorry. Just seems to be that sort of 'real life' story that doesn't turn out neat and tidy.

Argh, really? I thought the story left off in a perfect position. I don't understand why people always seem to want things tied up with neat little bows.

I like to be left hanging just a little, but then again, I'm a bit of a weirdo, so who knows? *shrugs*

I haven't written feedback on The Hat Trick yet (bad me, I know), but I thought the ending was fine. It wrapped up all the necessary plot points and left things in a reasonably resolved state. I was, honestly, surprised at how much I liked it.

You know, people on CM are simply BLINDED by Ron love. They can't stand to see him miserable, and they instantly want a fix to it. Every time Ron is in a mess in my fics, I get tons of reviews begging to make it good for Ron again.

It's just a funny quirk over there. . . They're all about Ron, even if he's wrong, they're there rooting for him. It's almost funny, I've actually had to spell out things in my fics so people will understand WHY Ron may not be totally in the right.

I sometimes do, too. There's a great long-fic that McTabby rec'd recently that ended -- augh! I want to know what happens next. So it does work as is, but it does leave looking over the edge for more. I understand that.

This story refuses to be tied up neatly, so I may have to give up on that idea entirely.

I'm really grateful for the responses I've had. I was so worried about this story because it's radically different from what I've written in the past. I usually develop stories from the relationship outward, but the challenge was plot-centric, so I had to change how I write for this story. I was worried that the characterisation and interactions might suffer as a result, but they seemed to have survived just fine. :)

You know, I was getting that impression. But thanks for telling me. I love Ron, too, and do understand the feeling. I was sort of hoping that people would pick up on the "Mr Weasley is cooperating fully with the authorities" and follow that it meant he wasn't going to jail -- he was cutting a deal (or rather his lawyer was). But I may have seen more Law & Order episodes than most people.

Guess I just prefer to have some things left up to my imagination.

Yeah this story has a lot of blanks. But I always listen to the readers. If I hear a consistent complaint I reread to see if it's something I want to change or consider for the future.

oh, i didn't get that, because i don't watch Law & Order. *s* other than my missing that point, i think it's an excellent story, and i like the ending as it is. my mind fills in the details with no problem. you've left ron doing the Right Thing as whistle-blower, which is admirable and honorable. harry, otoh, is a real slut, isn't he? :)

Just wanted to say that I was greatly amused by Snape and Harry in "Cursed Artefacts For Sale."

Yummy!

You always leave me wanting to know more about the details of their world, just like JKR does, and indeed, as all good books do.
