icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Ron and Draco in Drag)
Cross your fingers. I get the final word on that possible 'Good News' in RL at 1:30 today.

Tomorrow morning I have a date with the writing of the next chapter of 'Beg Me For It', SNAFU.

(Please let it go well, please let it go well, someone just gave me a review that they loved 'Hey You' but the time between updates is killing them. *whimpers* It's not a WiP! Other than 'Hey You', these are complete stories in their own right. I will never, ever write WiPs, it's just so horrible to be struggling with a story and then someone beats you over the head asking when the next update is and oh, god, the stress on that RL news is just killing me...)

Look at all my shiney new icons! Thank you Marion. Alas, they will all be gone in six months, since I will never pay for LiveJournal.

Night Over Azkeban Harry/Lucius

In 'Art of War' Hijja proved she knows and understands power. In Night Over Azkeban, she does it again, with plot twists as sharp and suspenseful as a roller coaster. While there are some grammatical flubs (ignore them please, she's German), this is the rare, powerful experience with many insightful observations and a perfect characterisation of Lucius. It's billed as a PWP, but really, the story is a study in just how close the line is between passion and control. The unexpected lurches of power remind me of tight, fast-paced version of [livejournal.com profile] switchknife's 'If Thine Enemy'.

Learning How to Fly Harry/Oliver

Jaylee writes boys beautifully, and the way she she describes flying cracks open the sky to the reader. You feel it, like you did as a child when that swing went so high, you couldn't see the ground and your heart was in your throat but you pushed higher. Her adult Harry is tangible and real, and this isn't fluffy cardboard Oliver, that everyman from every Percy/Oliver fic -- this is the maniac we all know and love. But we finally get to understand him. And seeing Harry through his eyes, we understand Harry a lot better, too. Which, given how many Harry fics there in the world, any author who can open a new vista has my vote.
