School: okay, I've done it.

No, I did not get my essay done. (I used the time-honoured technique of 'when you're stuck on one thing for a class, work on something that is also due until you're unstuck. At least you'll get something done.')

Yes, I missed my morning classes today from being up all night.

But... I cancelled my ESL tutoring. *sigh of relief*

Those extra two credits, plus the journalling, plus the lesson plans, plus the training, were slowly pushing me over the edge. The workload was far out of proportion to the credit hours involved. I was also supposed to journal about what I was learning about Chinese culture, but my student's english wasn't advanced enough.

I can't make up for the time and momentum I've lost, and a test that I've likely failed. But I'm going to catch up on those last journal entries (backdated *snerk*) and by the end of this week (once the Percy Ficathon, and both the Percy Ficathon site and the new Icarus site are up and running), my schedule will be normal again. I'll be back on track with school.

A sequel to Halrloprillar's Perquisite and Unnatural Acts (the same event told from different perspectives), set during Percy's sixth year. Snape and Percy have an odd, undefined relationship. I am secretly in love with this series, and hoping that we get to see more of it.

Another story with literary references, this time overwrought romance novels. 'Other woman' Harry gets relationship advice from the least likely place. Hot and hilarious.

Percy Ficathon

How about something fascinating and faintly mysterious? merrycontrary writes:

The Establishment for Gentlemen, by ursulakohl. Percy/ Penny, Percy/ Ginny, Percy/ OFC.
R for incest, lack of incest, mind-altering substances, original characters with names like Hardcastle.

This story is far more evocative of nineteenth century novels than your average fan fiction. The language is formal, the imagery sparse but effective. Percy and Ginny fit amazingly well into their roles as reclusive widower and saucy governess. Warning: there are some formatting problems, but if you can look past them, you'll be rewarded with a great story.
