icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Default)
Okay, in a fit of rebellion against my homework, I've updated my site with one Harry Potter tidbit, Crossed Signals (never fear, I haven't abandoned HP: magic is just too much fun for that), and the recently completed Arguing with the Gods.

So there.

Now I'm gonna have to scramble to do my homework. *kicks rocks* But it's math, and it's not fun. *scuff, scuff*

On the plus side, I have the stereo cranked, the boys out of the house, a sleepy smiling kitty beside me -- and soup!

Maybe I'll make some muffins, too.

ETA: little edits. Whoops.

Since I'm rebelling, this has angst.

Yes. Me. Angst.

Go figure.

A whole story. Yep. I don't feel even remotely guilty. Nope, not a bit.

Straight Across The Desert. Jack/Daniel. (Oh, HP fans, don't cry -- I'm working on that steamy Ron/Draco, really I am.) )

ETA: More edits. Whoops again.
ETA2: Even more edits. Whoopsie.

ETA3: Added [livejournal.com profile] cyanei's beta changes, tweaked it here and there.

I write Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG-1 because I identify with him. I started out very much a believer in my own world, and no, it wasn't the scientific community, just about as wide-open as James Spader plays the role. Then I went through a few battles of my own.

I think he's an archetype a lot of people can identify with actually: that of innocence lost. What do you do then?

I spoke with [livejournal.com profile] cyanei (gosh, I hope I spelled that right Nope. Now corrected.) about the difficulties of writing a character that's been played by two very different actors, who has over the last eight years gone through a lot of development and major changes. I liked it enough, I've decided to post it here.

Writing Doctor Jackson. )

ETA: More edits. *snort*

Just noticed my computer clock is off. It thinks it's 1pm. Oh no. It's 1am, the proper time for slash-writers to be out.

*sigh*

I miss Percy.

Hey, Arguing with the Gods is already up at Area52. That was pretty quick.
