icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Default)
It's time for another exciting edition of...

School Whining!

(It's been so long. I know you've missed it.)

In today's exciting episode, Icarus wrestles a deadly gorgon (also known as student aid), has her research hopes dashed by a dashing yet overburdened professor ("Fie! Thou be-est not a Ph.D. candidate! Get thee gone, for my time is booked for fortnights into the forseeable future!"), and is trapped between the Prerequisite Only Offered In The Summer while lured by the Siren Call of $18-Per-Hour Temp Work.

Will she survive? Will she throw herself out a window in frustration?

Stay tuned.

Holy schmokes, Kenneth Lay is dead?

Right after he's found guilty of manifold counts of fraud in the Enron scandal?

Am I the only one who thinks this is probably suicide? Lay was a proud man. And now Skilling has to face the music alone. Things are going to go a lot harder for him now.

In other news: I've started the "John Screws Up" story, still a bit leery.

Writing NC-17 Het. Huh. That's a first.

ETA: Dear SGA fandom, if I continue to write NC-17 Het, will you still respect me in the morning? )

Good grief, I set out to write my John-Screws-Up story, and I end up writing Carson.

Written for [livejournal.com profile] aizjanika, who put the idea in my head, and inspired by [livejournal.com profile] amireal's dissection of the SGA crew's failings. Utterly and shamelessly unbeta'd. Hopefully I weeded out all the wavering between past and present tense.

ETA: And [livejournal.com profile] greenling, [livejournal.com profile] greenling also wanted Carson.

Carson frets over what they're doing in Michael.
