Okay. School is out. I have only... *counts* ...a bazillion papers to do, and finals this week.
After the turmoil of the last couple of weeks, it's time for a long, hot bath.

Stargate Atlantis
This is my current comfort fic. This is John. Our John, with his remarkable capacity for self-delusion and denial, even as he denies himeself nothing. This is classic John/Rodney, with their sweet disregard for how-this-looks just so long as they don't get caught and oh, hey, did you get the Batman CD with Julie Newmar? Cool!
I'm convinced. Slashing the two of them has always been so easy because they've only a passing acquaintance with the word "No." I can see the two of them as kids (no, this is not kiddie fic, I'm just waaaay off-topic). Rodney reaching for the cookie jar, blinking in utter wide-eyed confusion as he's told, sorry Rodney, not till after dinner. John, turning thoughtful as the cookies are pulled out of reach, merely plots an alternate route to his aims. And so the two deftly avoid any collision with questions of, "am I gay?" with the far more pressing concern, "what do I want right now?"
And because it simply won't do to neglect the final reunion of LJ and Fandom:

Personally, my favorite parts are the flamboyant peacock colors and digs at Greatest Journal's default layout. I'm glad fandom didn't pack up and move. I'm not good with change.
Enjoy your bath.
