Old friend very ill.
Jul. 10th, 2011 09:39 amA month or two ago a friend of mine contacted me out of the blue on Facebook. We hadn't spoken in 20-25 years. She's as sweet and as gentle a person as ever.
Her name is Andrea Schnitzer. She's only 44 and has colon cancer, about ten years before doctors even start checking for it. Her husband is an ex-husband and a deadbeat dad. (Seems the "in" thing these days for men to live off a new wife or girlfriend to avoid paying child support. Women should stop allowing this.)
She's doing chemo and is active on Facebook, but not chatty right now, which means she's feeling quite sick. She's the sort that doesn't want to bother people when she's ill.
Anyhow, she mentioned that she's contacting her ex-boss who's very religious, and pretty much everyone she knows who might pray for her. She doesn't care what religion. Which tells me she's scared.
Any prayers (hoodoo ceremonies or whatever you do) would be most appreciated by her. And me. She's as gentle as a bunny and doesn't deserve anything harsh in her life, let alone cancer.
