How did Romney manage to screw up something so simple?

Obama has never embarrassed me (or the US) internationally. You never hear of the articulate and immaculately polite Obama, say, barfing on the prime minister of Japan.

Nor does he do this:

British press labels Romney a 'wazzock' after his snide comments about the London Olympics. The London mayor says "There's this guy named Romney who thinks we're not ready."

Political analysts are at a loss to explain his list of gaffes at the Olympics, where all he had to do smile and wave and say nice things.

I can explain it. Romney's a jerk. Therefore saying nice things doesn't come naturally.

The London press tout Michelle Obama as an example Romney could follow as "a fun masterclass in diplomacy."
