They climbed at a steep angle, dodging the plumes of smoke. Fred's arm clutched Harry's chest as gravity and velocity combined with a weight to press them together. Below, the Dursley's doors opened and shut like a Jack-in-the-Box -- sparks spewed out of the chimney, crackling.
With a whoop, George dodged through scattering sparks and rose on an updraft beside them, towing Harry's trunk and gear.
"I'd say you departed with a bang, Mr Potter," he laughed.
He felt Fred nod behind him. "Yes, congratulations, Harry! That should keep the Ministry busy for weeks."
Harry squared his jaw. "I don't care," he said, and was surprised to discover that he really didn't.
"And well you shouldn't," said Fred with a flourish.
"After all, having defeated You Know Who --"
"Why would they punish you --"
"-- and send you --"
"Back there?"
"No where else to go," Harry sighed, resigned. No other 'family.'
Fred and George's eyes met over Harry's head.
"Then allow us to introduce you to your new roommates," Fred said. George nodded vigorously: "Us!"
Then Fred added, "But we've limited space. So you'll have to share a bed with me."
George rolled his eyes. "Don't be ridiculous! What Fred means to say is you'll have to share with me."
Fred turned to him, ignoring Harry's snort. "We could push them together?"
"That might be acceptable."
Fred and George shook hands over Harry's head. "Done!"
"Um…" Harry elbowed Fred. Below, several black-robed dots arced into view and turned in their direction. Shit. The MLE.
"We see 'em," said Fred, turning nonchalantly into a cloud bank.
George called out: "Take the baggage -- I'll draw them off!" Harry watched as his trunk suddenly plummeted. Fred dipped into a stomach-churning, white-knuckle dive, looped underneath and caught it. Their broom dragged from the extra weight behind them and Harry loosened his death grip. It was really different if you weren't the one flying.
"We're going to have a fine time, Harry!" George waved cheerily as he sped off.
Fred whispered into Harry's ear, "and he means that in the most lecherous of ways."
