Complete our outstanding WiPs
Jul. 3rd, 2004 01:43 pmAnyone interested in
coowipp?
It's a scary thought. Complete our WiPs by August?
It would be cheating for me to put Beg Me For It in there, wouldn't it? ;)
Yes, I'm using this post to avoid editing the kamikrazier portions of SNAFU. Some of this is just... nuts. And unrelentingly violent (wince).
ETA: corrected COOWIP to COOWIPP.

Date: 2004-07-03 04:56 pm (UTC)... I started my current big-arse WiP this time *last* *year*, and so far, I have about 35K words written. Plot-wise, that's only about a third of the story told. To try to finish it in two months... ahahahahaha. Oh, that'll never happen.
(I am like the slowest fic writer in the world. Gah.)

I'll finish Beg Me For It first, then get ambitious.

Date: 2004-07-03 08:33 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's really not going to happen. Not only am I slow, I also like to begin lots and lots of new stories which also never get finished.
dipping_sauce, I'm in love with your icon. *licks icon*

Date: 2004-07-04 07:12 am (UTC)With a long deadline I'll be good for a day or two then, "Well, I have plenty of time, and I'd really like to finish this book..." or "There's still three weeks left, and I just found some new recipes that I really want to experiment with." and finally, *sits down, opens file, types a few words, sits there staring blankly for a minute, then opens a different or completely new file* "I still have time for that other fic, and this is what I really want to write now." And then the rest of the time flies by, and at best I've gotten a chapter or two done.
I guess I'm going to need to break it up into smaller pieces. Something like I need to write at least 10,000 words worth of ff.n ready (spellchecked and skimmed over, but otherwise raw) copy a week, and post them all on my lj at the end of the week, even if I have to stop right in the middle of a sentence, as proof that I'm keeping it up. And if it's not all done in 80,000 and a bit words, well, that's 80,000-odd words that would never have been done if I hadn't stuck to it.
