Okay, the broken links are now fixed on my site.

Got yelled at again at work. Wonderful. It's good to have reminders as to why I'm going to school: my pure unadulterated hatred for the way secretaries are treated. Though this woman is unusually bad in the way she spews at the office.

Good news though: whee, more reviews for Beg Me For It, and [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge has joined [livejournal.com profile] hp_dungeons, I was gifted with gmail account, all the pouring out of concern in general.

And the best news of all: [livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru's mom is doing much better. The hospital tests show negative for cancer, which is a real relief. She will still have to have the radiation treatments, but -- so far so good.

Well, you just inspired me to reread Beg Me For It. And that inspired me to leave a review. So I type out a nice long review and hit send, but WTF? It says my review is too long, and I can't leave more than 1,000 characters with my non-upgraded account, blah blah blah. What account? *puzzles*

So I copy-paste-lettercount, to see if maybe I just need to delete two or three letters, but alas. There are 1,377 plus 314 spaces, which your review function may or may not count, but I'm not going to bother figuring it out, because I'm posting the review RIGHT HERE, goddammit. ;P

God. I just reread this for, what the third time? At least. And it was even better than I remembered. And it's one of those fanfics that is not remarkable by its adherence to canon, but by being original and a work of art in its own right. (I'm not saying you don't do a good job of sticking to canon, just that you do but it's overshadowed by the other strengths of the fic. Is this coming out right?)

A few of my favorite lines:

"Sorry. Probably been around Death Eaters too long. They joke about things like that."

Ron's comment really brings home how the DE are evil but becoming to familiar for comfort . . .

"-- we were merely convenient parts in Lucius Malfoy's well-oiled machine. Well-cared for, because that's how one treats useful tools. So they'll last. And not squeak."

Just loved the way you put this metaphor. 'Squeak,' such an appropriate word . . .

"He was just helpless. Like one of those small, yappy dogs that make a whole hell of a lot of noise, but don't have anything to back it up. Perhaps he'd always been like that."

You make such good analogies. I love your characterizations, and this is an excellent example of why.

And this next bit is probably too long to quote, so let's just say, from "Oh, gross" to "I still wank to that image in the shower" is one of the most inspired reactions to sex I've had the pleasure of reading. :D

And practically everything Draco says is so very Draco, and his interactions with Ron are so very wonderful to read, and this story makes me bemoan the dearth of Ron/Draco out there, except I don't want to read someone else's interpretation of it because it won't live up to yours. And I'm not just flattering you, either; it's true.

You see, you made me to really extend my interests, Draco and Ron fit without any doubt. Opposities and contrast. Just like Snarry. Looking forward for more :-)

Ooooooh. I read this late yesterday at the end of an intense day, and it was just... such a treat. Thank you.

Yeah, I wish there were more Ron/Draco, too. Have you read [livejournal.com profile] hp_femme's Wine of Life? Totally different Ron/Draco, but wonderful story, with lots of magical touches.

How can someone yell at you? You are so... so.... hmm.... "together" might be the word. I don't see it at all. I guess that people with whom you work, have emotional problems...

All I asked was what her schedule was for an interview, and she got pretty furious with the boss, and took it out on me.

Her behaviour has been startlingly unprofessional.

Nope, haven't read that one. Will see if I can get around to it. (So many fics, so little time . . .) *adds to Favorites so I remember*

It makes me so ridiculously happy that my review made you happy. :g:

It occurred to me (too late) that the 'account' giving me grief may have been my brand-spankin'-new Gmail, in which case I may have been slightly too accusatory in my little rant. *still clueless* Forgive?

ETA: The spell-check just suggested three lines of alternatives to 'spankin'. And I skimmed through them and damn if they didn't all sound totally pervy and kinky, even when they weren't. Try it, and tell me if it's all in my head or not? ;)

Oops. I went to go bookmark it like I said I would, and read the first few lines, and read a bit more, and by the time the clock dodged the cushion, I was hooked and had to read the whole thing through . . .

I'm blaming you, just so you know. ;P

Yes. Things are looking up. But, I'm still in that crouched "wait and see" position. Hmm.
