Okay, I was warned about this.

One reason I started reading Stargate SG-1 fanfic (other than the fact that I think that Jack and Daniel are hot together) was that there was no impulse to write or guilt about stories half-finished. Yessiree, I can just enjoy the stories and not worry about any compulsion to write.

Hah.

The bunnies multiplieth.

1 - Daniel returns from being Ascended and slowly remembers a, ahem, challenge Jack set for himself in the SGC.

2 - No one ever expected Jack to retire. Written from the POV of several minor OCs, the truth about why Jack retired slowly leaks out, as Jack tries to find ways to help when he's no longer in command.

3 - Over drinks, Jack explains to Daniel the real working version of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. "So it's more lenient?" "No, it's just more detailed."

4 - Jack and Daniel return via the Quantum mirror to an alternate reality of earth in order to warn them of an impending Gou'ald invasion -- only to find they got the wrong alternate reality.

Help.

Hi Matilda, I promise I won't leave the HP fandom. My mind just got a little, oh, tight about HP fics. I started feeling guilty about fics not done, couldn't enjoy HP stories because each one would cause an outburst of either Meta or a companion fic. I need to rest my mind. :)

I sort of like #3, because it's just so revealing of Jack's personal history. Heh.

Yes, but #1 is good because it sounds Daniel-centric.

And a tidbit of #4:

Daniel watched, mesmerized, feeling like the worst kind of voyeur, but he couldn't look away. His double was backed up against the countertop. The other Daniel dropped his chin to Jack's shoulder in a gesture so familiar he could almost feel it. He knew what was next as the other Daniel rubbed his face against Jack's, nuzzling, and his lips parted and slid along Jack's cheek. Jack's fists closed about the edge of the counter as he leaned forward into the kiss.

Daniel swallowed, wondering briefly if there were some universal Jack-and-Daniel-ness or if these two - this was - from circumstance. Culture. Nature or nurture. Oh, it was an important question right now.

A voice next to him murmured, "Social hierarchy my ass." Jack. His Jack, the real Jack. "There's obviously more to it than that. C'mon, Daniel. Peep show's over."

Ooooh, that's... really very intriguing. Really. Very.

You need to finish that, you realise. :-)

*charms bunnies into killer-bunnies* Hah! Now you won't run away from them! Come on, one story. Just one. The first one, because if I'm guessing correctly, it already partly exsists, and you already have me hooked on it.

MUST.NOT.LEAVE.POTTERVERSE! Seriously, SG1 is a fandom I enjoyed only a little bit and haven't been to in a couple of years. I'm obsessed with HP so the idea of you leaving for Jack/Daniel instead of writing yummy Snape/Lupin makes me break out in a sweat. And not that good post sex sweat but the I've had a dream about meeting my boss wearing only my underwear kind of sweat.

No fanfic is gonna happen right now.

Between work and school my schedule's packed. And I'm pretty miserable about it. I've had to drop [livejournal.com profile] interimminister. No one's reviewing my old stuff. I can't finish the HP stories I've started. Can't write the SG-1 fanfic that's come to mind. I'm not happy at all about this.

Well, the reason why I dropped my HP fanfic and started reading SG-1 is that I don't have time to write, and reading HP fanfic rubbed salt in the wound. Now SG-1 fanfic... I'm in the same boat. I flat out don't have time to write.

The problem with both HP and SG-1 fanfic right now is that I don't have time to write. It's just... the ideas are there, but the time to write them isn't. So it's very frustrating.

*hangs head in shame* Sorry for the selfish burst, there. I know how draining your work-load is right now. Take care of yourself, and do whatever you need to do to balance your sanity and obligations. You're an incredible writer and whenever you have a chance to write again, I'd love to read whatever you want to share.

It's okay. *sniffle* It's just that you're teasing poor us, and we simply want more. *g* No pressure, though.

Oh.

I think of it as giving you what I do have. Even if I don't have a complete story, even if I don't have time to really make something of it, at least you can enjoy this image, or this idea, run with it in your mind. It's not my intention to torment anyone. I started reading SG-1 to avoid the torment of Harry Potter stories that I couldn't devote my time to finishing.

And I'm very grateful for that. *g* It's just that those bunnies have real potential and it's a real loss for the fandom not to have them fully realised. I don't mind a little torment, and I'm glad to have those tidbits.

Oh, well, these are not dead bunnies (which is a rather horrifying thought, actually). They are very much alive, and to help keep them healthy I'm letting them out to play. ;)

You are not even remotely selfish. It was extremely generous of you to dig up all those links, for example, and whoever is generous with kind words and praise could never be called selfish.

But it is true that I do not have a great deal of time at the moment. I hope to have more time, soon. *returns to reading Decartes*
