WG Reading HP!

W00t!

wildernessguru got curious watching me read Half-Blood Prince this weekend and started reading the first book. His first comment (after five pages), "This is a lot better than the movies."

He stopped reading and I thought that was it. But we cut a deal that I would read one of his books if he read HP.

He was going to start last night, but did military research instead.

Running out the door at 5am this morning, he asked me, "Hey, where's that Harry Potter book?" We looked everywhere and couldn't find it.

We gave up, kissed goodbye, but I kept looking -- aha! It was by the stereo!

Raced down three flights, out the door, book in hand, and caught him on the way to the car. More kisses and a ridiculously soppy morning (we're ridiculous... how long have we been together?), waving and smiling, hovering at the door to see him off, WG's glancing back to see me go inside. Egad, all we needed was a sunset.

But he's reading it! *punches the air* I couldn't even get him to read the Lord of the Rings. The only part he was interested in was Tolkien's detailed historical notes (yes, yes, strange man).

Wait. I'd better start reading his Outdoorman's book now.

*looks up in the air* Huh. That's a bit odd. It seems to me that pigs have actually taken flight. :-)

Way to go! It's like Gloria Estephan (sort of) said: "Eventually, the HP is going to get you." :-D

HeadBoy will eventually get around to reading HBP just so he won't feel totally left out of the family. My eldest son is about 2/3 through it; my youngest is still entranced by cartoons, so god knows when he'll finish.

Tonight, HeadBoy asked a question that combined two books and a film. *headdesk*

He actually ONLY wanted to read Tolkien's NOTES?? That IS weird. I mean, it's one thing to read the novels and then perhaps become obsessed enough to read all the appendeces etc etc, but... Wow. Well, in that case, I'm doubly impressed you got him to read HP. You'll have to let us know what he thinks of it - and whether he decides to read the rest of them ;-)

I wish we could be like that someday! heheh. <3 i read the essay on Percy(i accidentally typed "Pervy"...o_O; xD) and just. wow. It was awesome. lol, i enjoyed it and it kinda comforted me on Percy's behalf. He's always been one of my favourites... no idea why. heh.

Yeah. It took me aback. He said, "Hmm. This is really detailed." I warned him that, hmm yeah, the rest of the book is the story but he made it clear that it was all this history that he liked.

Of course, this is from a man who reads technical military hardware (all numbers and lists of specifications) manuals with the happy purr of a kid with the Sunday funnies.

haha, whooot! I feel so loved and so anticipated for... xD And i was happy to see you were still using my layout for your website. I was telling my bud (who did not know what slash was...) about how you kept the layout and how i felt loved. he just looked funny at me.

uhm. do i anything about eFiction? i'm not sure what that meant... and i'm not entirely sure what eFiction is. ^^;
