What's happening is that the downloaded file started out as a wma file.
The only program I have that will burn CDs (this is at the office where I can't install software) is iTunes.
At home I'm running Win98, which slows to a crawl, sputters then crashes with any current music software -- even if it's supposed to be Win98-compatible. (ze_dragon game me an older version of WinAmp that works beautifully on Win98, but doesn't burn CDs.)
wma files will not play in iTunes. Microsoft's designed them so iTunes can't even recognise them. I drag it over to iTunes -- and it's spit out, pwang!
So before djin7's generousity I had a copy of Battery that nothing but Windows Media Player would even open.
