Fire, fire, fire... zzzzzzzzzz.
Sep. 28th, 2005 12:28 pmI have to admit, I am very surprised at how tired I am. I mentioned it to
wildernessguru who laughed:
"Could it be because you were dragged out of the shower at 7:30 in the morning to pull on clothes (with no underwear or socks) while still dripping wet, to grab the kitty and the computer and run from a fire?
"Could it have something to do with the fact that you bought tights and then worked a full day, all the time worrying about your sweet pea who was driving around with a cat in the car and contacting the property manager to find out if your apartment had burned to the ground?
"Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that you didn't know where you were going to live yesterday and were working things out with co-workers on what was, oh by the way, your last day of work?
"Could -- maybe -- your working an 11-hour day on top of that have had an effect? Jeeze, honey, I can't imagine why you're tired."
You know, he has a point.
I'll catch up comments later. I've called in sick for two classes.

Date: 2005-09-29 09:40 am (UTC)WG has so many uses... he betas slash, is handy for bi-research, cooks, cleans, and well (cough) does other things. That he's terrific in an emergency just adds to his appeal.
Have I missed any great SG-1 fics? (Non S8/S9.) Tired as I am, I find myself in the mood to read again.

It's been over a month since I wrote anything on it (damned writer's block/dry spell/whatever you want to call it), but here's a link to the most recent in my series The Games Men Play: Out Of Control.
I think
Can't think of any more at the moment...hope there's some here you haven't read.

Date: 2005-09-29 04:18 pm (UTC)Oh I can't wait to read Komos' latest. There are no season 8 spoilers? I couldn't tell from the summary (Komos' summaries are utterly vague on the essentials) so I didn't want to risk it.
More Games from you? Wonderful. *settles back into couch to prepare to never leave*

Date: 2005-09-30 08:02 am (UTC)Outside the Box and the untitled Lost City Part 1 tag are for the end of Season 7, so those two are fine. I just re-read The Appearance of Objects In Depth, because I couldn't remember for sure if it was clean of spoilers - such a hardship to have to read that one again! *g* So, yeah, there are a couple of rather minor Season 8 spoilers. The fic takes place fairly early on in Season 8, and mentions a couple of early episodes, but there are really no major spoilers. Nothing that's essential to the plot, or that will really explain what actually happens in those episodes.
It's kind of like getting smacked on the arm as someone walks past you down the street. You say, "Oh. That was so-and-so. Wonder what that was all about?" And then you go on with your business. You already know from the end of Season 7 that Carter is dating a cop named Pete, and you know because you got spoiled to it last season that Jack is promoted to General. That's half of the spoilers there - and the others are pretty vague.
So I'm not going to try and convince you to read it anyway, 'cause it's up to you. But let me just say, it's a Jack/Daniel story that centers around Carter, and she's well drawn and her personality is rounded and she's smart and loyal and honest and real and it's one of the best portraits of her I've read in a long time. It's really worth reading. IMHO. As a matter of fact, I bet once you do read it, whenever that may be, it will go on your rec list. (You can't tell I like this one, can you?)
Now that I have you thuroughly, I'm gonna go clean my litter boxes. Have fun...I'm sure you'll have more than me.
