*sigh* More complaints about the website.

I get a lot of complaints about my website. Just got another email.

People don't like the little box in the middle of the page. They find it difficult to navigate. WG thinks it's too dark and not "me" at all.

I didn't design it. I don't know how to change it -- it was a gift.

Can someone teach me or point me to a site that can teach me eFiction? I want to learn how so I can do it myself, and change it myself, not be dependent on other people.

My site runs on efiction http://www.fanfiction.spak.org - I designed it myself. It's not amazing or anything, but I've run it through usability tests and generally get good feedback on it. To edit the design, you simply need to edit the skin (best idea is to first add a second skin, using the first a s template, and only delete the first once you're sure the new one works). The files are in the skins folder of your dir. I'm not good at explaining stuff, but if you have a specific question, plrease feel free to ask me!

I have all the files for eFiction uploaded for the Percyness (http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/percyness) site which was designed by femmequixotic. It's on the same server as my own site.

I also have a header uploaded here for Icarus Slash Fiction (http://www.icarus.slashcity.net/icarus5.gif).

So what do I do to create an identical (more or less) layout to the Percyness site for the Icarus site, only with the Icarus header?

Good choice. Your current site *is* a bit inconvenient. I checked out the Percy one, and that's much easier to access. Sorry I don't know anything about eFiction...I'll wish you lots of luck, if that helps any...

Hee- the little box is hard to read, but I'd have never emailed about it. An eFiction site with a pretty standard template would be easier to read. eFiction's pretty easy to install, but I've never dinked around with the skins, so unfortunately I can't add anything actually useful.

But I can add encouragement- So, yea! Easier to read. Go you!

The navigation box doesn't bother me, I've seen worse stuff on a website; what does get to me, though, is skinny blue cursive lettering on a black background. Oooog. Hard on these 59-year-old eyes.

*laughs* Yeah, the email started as feedback and quickly morphed into "wow, I couldn't find a thing on your site and you'd be better off with just a list."

I'm having to sit on my hands until vacation however, and yep, especially on the higher screen size that box is very annoying.
