Hello? [livejournal.com profile] lizardspots? Anyone?

I'm looking for a copy of the Skating Cowboys video. Because I have in my hot little hands, for one week only:

- a first class laptop with XP that runs videos beautifully, though I'm still on dial-up so can't stream them

- a pile of SGA CDs that [livejournal.com profile] thegrrrl2002 sent many moons ago which WG and I are gratefully devouring (thank you Grrrl!)

- a mic (yay Veni!) to record stories

- another part to Out Of Bounds, sketched out at lunch today on the first day back at school

- and a burning desire to see more skating videos. But I have to download them or have them on CD.

Is anyone able to upload to YSI a copy of the skating cowboys? And any other skating videos you might happen to have lying around? Pretty please? I'm prepared to bribe you.

I've just started an upload; I should have a YSI link for you in 10 minutes or so, give or take. :-)

No skating, but now that you can play them, I'll again offer my collection of DH and JF files...

Hi. I just wanted to say thank you for this link, I downloaded it and it is just priceless. I laughed as I watched because I couldn't believe it. So thanks so much for sharing to [livejournal.com profile] icarusancalion as I piggybacked onto the request. Thanks!!

A wonderful skating program to Pirates of the Caribbean by Margarita Drobiazku and Povilas Vanagas: http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=18LSCJKUPZZ4F2R7TWS1DSXZL2

Also, you can find lots of skating videos here and here. (The second link is mostly Russian figureskating community, so you'll have to search a bit, but you can find great videos there.)

You're very welcome!

I can only recommend Philippe Candeloro and Marina Anissina/Gwendal Peizerat - they have fantastic programs!

Gotcha. Candeloro's always a stitch, though I've never followed pairs that much so thanks for the rec. I also have a weakness for the graceful Alexander Abt. I missed him this past Olympics.

I saw the best, most Rodney-ish routine over the weekend in a vid of Christopher Bowman, but it was on DVD so I've no way to upload it for everyone.

You're most welcome! :-)

And there's absolutely no bribe necessary. If anything, this is a tiny and inadequate way for me to thank you for the pleasure of reading your stories.

Have you a favorite ep from the first half of S2?

Epiphany.

Pithy, eh?

Though WG and I also loved the episode with the Aurora (don't recall the name of it) and, of course, Trinity. I really enjoyed the (brief, flickering) moments in Duet when David Hewlett fell out of character to flirt with Paul. He's adorable, isn't he?

I am still on dial up, so if something's an hour long, it takes me three hours to download it. Do you think I'd be able to d/l something as long as their movies?

There was a lot to love about "Epiphany", but I think "Aurora" wins out for me. Those white uniforms! So dorky!

David really was flirting with Paul, wasn't he? ::giggles:: I never looked at it that way.

The peek-a-boo game was the sweetest thing. I'd expected the kiss to be great, but it really was the peek-a-boo that melted me into silly putty.

Those white uniforms were terrific. They looked like they were at a pajama party (which made me happy in so many ways). I also loved the theme, a pretty new spin on the VR trope, the nobility of the crew.

Epiphany I liked because, given Joe Flanigan hatched the story, it told us many interesting things about him. He seemed to be really enjoying the story. WG said it reminded him of One Hundred Days, but it just didn't have the SG-1 bittersweet quality.

It would take you a few years to download them, but luckily, I can't upload them. I'd have to burn them to DVD and post them. If you want Traders, it's 13 DVDs, if you don't, it's eight DVDs. Each DVD is full of AVI format files, so I can fit about six movies per DVD. They are not VOP format. VOP plays on standard DVD players, but only some DVD players (such as the Pioneer DVD383) will play avi or divx format files. I recommend that, by the way, great little machine. Anyway, if you want them, I can do you a set and post them off.

It's enough work & expense that I didn't end up responding to your friends who asked me ;D I almost did, but then I thought, buggrit, coz I'm lazy. But no, you've been on my friends list for yonks and it only takes about a couple of hours as I have a new and really fast DVD burner. In fact, it's my new toy! Weeee look at it go!

I have about 90% of whatever David Hewlett has been in, and 99% of Joe Flanigan's stuff (at least according to IMDB). I do have some things in VOP format that I haven't worked out how to convert into AVI, yet, but I'm working on it. Nearly everything else I can copy.

So yeah, if you let me have a postal address (I don't care if you use a friend's or work address or whatever if you're worried I'll go insane and start stalking you or send you a dog poop in the post or whatever) I can send you a set of disks. International postage takes about two weeks, btw.

Done.

I'll schedule my next borrowing of this laptop in a few weeks then. And, rabid fan of David Hewlett that I am (I fully intend to stalk him if he shows at the Vancouver Stargate con ;) I would love the Trader's Episodes.

I will reply in a screened comment with my address.

As for my friends, if I ever have the equipment to do so, I'll rip and upload YSI files.

If they friend me and send feedback, I dare say I'd make copies for them, too. I'm easy like that.

I'll make your set this weekend.

Oh, I have a link to a download for that one (just saw it on video this weekend) though I haven't attempted it yet. 4-Meg files take forty-five minutes for me to download.

Actually, I'm basing John's skating style on Tim Goebel, and Rodney's on Christopher Bowman. I've got another piece of Out of Bounds almost done. :)

All of your DVDs are burned. I'll post them sometime next week. I've done SGA, SG1 with DH, Traders 1-3 plus clips, all of my David Hewlette and Joe Flanigan stuff, and filled the gaps with some movies like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Third Man Out plus random crap like talking cats. Enjoy!

*laughs* You're amazing. WG and I are debating whether or not to name our next cat after you (given "first born" is out of the question), read a podcast porn story for you, have him podcast one of your stories (there's an idea), or to just send flowers like normal people.

*bounces* David Hewlett movies! More SGA eps!

Wheee! Christopher Bowman is my not-so-secret pleasure to watch.

And no need to thank me, though you're very welcome; the forum is a great resource, especially for older performances.

Oh, and I meant to say, too, that I really enjoy your figure skating AU -- in fact, I believe it has been the deciding factor in hooking me onto SGA -- Rodney is marvellous and John as well, but what truly broke me was the phone call to Radek. It's genius.

Saw inna comment below that you base John's skating on Tim Goebel's and I really like that idea. Just stay away from "the anatomical changes", please...:-)
