Hope you've been enjoying the third wave of the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest. Luthien and I have been working away to run it again, and currently 169 members are participating.

I have some rather ugly news that I thought I'd bring to your
attention. Do you remember the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest website content from the first and second waves? We've re-written it now, but in case you've forgotten, you'll be able to see it, AS STOLEN BY Vashsunglasses, as it appears WORD FOR WORD on her website (The Seaquest Fuh-Q Fest). http://vashsunglasses.tripod.com/warning/

Now I don't know how *you* feel about theft of site content, but I would hope that this blatant individual can be made to feel a healthy level of shame by publically pointing out her theft.

I personally am furious, and thoroughly disgusted with her. How DARE she steal MY words and publish them on her site, without even an acknowledgement, a link, or heaven forbid, asking if we'd mind.

I want that site brought down NOW. She has NO RIGHT to content
written by myself and Luthien specifically for the Severus Snape Fuh-Q Fest.

Thanks for your time. Please feel free to join me in thoroughly
despising this person who would stoop to such a low act. That is most decidely not the spirit of the Snape fans we've come to know and love.

I agree with you. It's a moral issue, and although a lot of people get by without being punished for small instances of snicking without credit, it really isn't polite, at the very least. Perhaps others will take a lesson from this?

Actually, I thought so too. But as it works out, the Fest has been shut down for a while. So that's not in response to the SSFF. I put the email up for Vashsunglasses to let her know this was not cool.

I could sort of understand if Vashsunglasses were a stranger to the SSFF, just saw it and thought 'hey, that's great - ' and borrowed liberally. But Vashsunglasses wrote a story for the SSFF, so was in contact with the group for that, so could have easily asked.

Yeah, it was rather rude. Ascess to a group doesn't mean ownership of shared content. Everyone should know that, and if they don't, they really ought to be told.
