Auror Exam

Sample question from the Auror Exam (which Ron flunked) -

"Your best friend wants a cookie, but your mother has told you not to have any before dinner. You:

a) sneak a cookie for both of you.
b) sneak a cookie, but just for him.
c) tell him he can't have a cookie, and why.
d) let him take the cookie, and you just watch.
e) tell your mother immediately."

You'd think that c) and e) are the best answers for the test, but really, what the Aurors want is d). Really. They want someone who is sneaky and smart; then they would expect you to report back, and get your instructions from the Ministry. c) and e) are too puritanical and straight-laced to be an Auror. The two worst answers are a) and b) of course. a) puts the friendship first, while b) is clearly trying to balance ethics and friendship, neither of which should be the big concerns to a future Auror. An Auror has to be mostly concerned with right and wrong, but in an expedient way.

EDIT: For some reason (that I think is my fault) this wasn't appearing on people's friends' pages, so I've moved it back up.

Actually, your entries have a tendency to do that--yours and [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo's. Don't know why, but they won't appear till, say, four hours later, at which point they appear in the right place chronologically on the friends page so I sometimes miss them. V. confusing.

Hmmm. Let's find out if [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo is using Earthlink as her ISP. I'm not too impressed with them right now. They've out-sourced their tech support and customer service to India, and those guys just lied to me out of sheer laziness three calls in a row.

What if Ron didn't want a cookie for himself, but still snuck one for Harry, huh? Huh?

Then he was answering too honestly to be an Auror in any case, heh. No, seriously, he had a dozen other Auror exam questions to not flunk.

Can you think of any other Auror exam questions? This was fun. And guess what? [livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru guessed d) right off the bat, and he's the one with the military background and the 'cop's eye.'

It would make a fun addendum to the 'Beg Me For It' story arc, since Ron flunked that test, twice.

A resounding No. My mind is all taken up by Snape, Dumbledore and Occlumency/Legilimency UST. There is no MHC. There is only UST.
