And yesterday I worked on Out Of Bounds.

Just a little editing of the next part, setting up the order of scenes, getting back into it. Do we have the doctor's office first, or John skating and then the doctor's? I learned yesterday that I have have a last gasp chance at my English paper, if I get it in today.

But this felt good. Like stretching after I've been in a very cramped space.

God. It is possible to keep endlessly busy with wanks, isn't it? I mean, they're like waves. First there's one, and then the next, and then the other, and the other.

I don't think that's how I want to spend my fandom time.

WG wants to see a movie. Folks, tell me: which should we see (if I get this paper done, otherwise he's going without me):

- Spiderman 3
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- No, you fool, there's a much better movie I'll tell you about in comments!

Thanks!

If you liked 40 Year Old Virgin, go see Knocked Up. Hilarious movie. Pirates was deeply satisfying, too, but I'd pass on Spiderman.

To my great sadness, I'd have to go with option three.
Hm.
Do they play Hot Fuzz near you?

Between Pirates and Spiderman, I'd pick Pirates. Personally, I thought that Spiderman was a snorefest (and had me thinking that we've been in the cinema for hours when about 1/3 of the movie was gone). Pirates was fun for me. :D (and definitely much more fun for my Johnny Depp obsessed friend) I thought Pirates was more action packed, and did not drag as much as Spiderman did.

On the other hand (since it's related to your current fic), I've heard many good things about "Blades of Glory" (That ice-skating show with Will Ferrel) heh

Hot Fuzz would get my vote.

But PotC3 is sort of de rigeur for fannish literacy, and it's fun (if overloaded and somewhat too long).

As third parts go, I'd say go with Pirates; I found it deeply satisfying, a fitting comclusion to DMC. But I'm also with [livejournal.com profile] _inbetween_ in reccing Hot Fuzz--so funny, and if you've seen Shaun of the Dead you'll be pleasently surprised by Pegg & Frost's range.

Spiderman 3 sucks, sucks, sucks don't see it oh god. Especially if you read the comics at all. The entire thing was horribly written, poorly acted, and is nothing like the comic at all.

PotC 3 is fun. The critics hate it but I don't really see why. It's mindless good time.

Besides that Knocked Up, or whatever the sequel to 40 Year Old Virgin is called is supposed to be good but I think the premise and the portrayal of the girl is retarded and sexist. (Why doesn't she just get an abortion. Why doesn't she even think about it?) Oh well.

I liked Spiderman, but thought POTC was awful.

I haven't seen Spiderman 3, as I have an objection to a wishy-washy MJ played by Dunst, who doesn't really seem to be trying.

However, I have seen PotC3, and really enjoyed it. Much better than the second, though still not as good as the first in that it's not a stand-alone movie. Go see it! You will laugh.

Pirates! I really liked it, although I can't predict whether you will, because my friends list is split between people who loved and hated it. If you do go see PotC3, be aware there's a scene after the credits.

Don't know if it's at all your speed, but..

I just saw Ocean's 13 yesterday and thought it was fab.

And pretty, of course.

Pirates was much more fun than Spider-Man 3. And the Beckett/Sparrow is yum.

Definitely Pirates. I adored it. The Barbossa/Sparrow moments are so worth it. :D

My son (whose girlfriend works at a theater) says:

Spiderman 3 was okay but too long and dragged at parts
Pirates 3 was better than 2 but not as good as 1
Shrek 3 was good, but not as good as the first 2

He recommends "Mr Brooks" if you like "Silence of the Lambs" types of movies.

If Waitress is playing near you, I would highly recommend seeing that as soon as possible before any other moviegoing. I went Saturday sort of out of a sense of obligation toward Nathan Fillion and Adrienne Shelley, and came out of it feeling uplifted and hoping it sweeps the Oscars.

I had the same reaction with S3. PotC3, on the other hand, was delightful entertainment. :-D
