No getting distracted. Them's the rules.
Jul. 19th, 2007 01:12 pmAh, the plumbers are finally gone. It's been grand central station this week, tramping in and out of the apartment. Monte's been freaked. Though he liked the French guy who told me yesterday:
a) Religious people have no reason to fear death. Yes, you have things you want to do with life, to take the energy you receive and transform it, and you have things you want to finish. But there is no reason to be afraid.
b) People who are afraid get married for "practical" reasons and have trouble believing in love.
Yes, he was very French.
Busting tail on the SGA skating AU Out Of Bounds. I'veeight seven six more scenes (down from fourteen) to write before Saturday. I know once I have the next HP book in hand my focus will completely shattered.
Fascinating. These past two weeks I've received more reviews on my old Harry Potter fics than I have in years. Primer to the Dark Arts. The Albatross. Cursed Artefacts For Sale. I get the impression people are reading HP fic like mad, going over old favorites, discovering old school stories while the wait for the Deathly Hallows reaches a fever pitch. If I had an HP fic to post I'd do it now.
Even A Quiet Kind Of War has been reviewed, with its OC "Jeremiah Stodgemore." OCs usually scare people away.
The Albatross is the big surprise. A lot of readers for that, I'm not sure why.
I suppose because even though it was written before HBP it (luckily) didn't violate the new canon. Or perhaps because of its quiet tone, with Snape and Percy preparing for a long future without the war against Voldemort. Maybe people are feeling the same way.
Any-hoo. Back to the salt mines. *cracks whip* My rules today are:
- no getting distracted downloading music
- no getting distracted checking email
- no getting distracted replying to comments, those can wait till the next chapter is done
- no getting distracted in chat
- no getting distracted
Ta-ta.
The next part of Out Of Bounds will be posted once my Czech expert
sarka reviews my inept handling of cold war politics. :) I have Kyle Fletcher's short program music stuck in my head.

Date: 2007-07-21 01:40 am (UTC)Ok, I'm not really coherant but I was annoyed that no one left any comments and I didn't want you to think that no one read your post.

Even if my brain is addled today.

Plus, I'm far, far behind on replying to comments at any rate. And (and!) I've noticed that whenever I provide either a link to an old fic of mine or a review of someone else's, people are off, clickity-clicking away, before the thought to comment even crosses their minds. :)
Wish me luck. I have three more scenes to outline before the HP book arrive tomorrow morning. Eeep!
