Wow, dreams are dull. Oh. And an SGA rec.
Aug. 18th, 2007 03:51 pmI've learned that when
wildernessguru starts telling me his dreams I should just nod a lot and say, "Umm-hmm." Every now and then I check in with my mind, wondering, "Is this making sense yet?
wildernessguru: "...and then I was in Poland because it was a quick trip to England and then...."
Nope.
An odd thing happened this morning. Normally he has war nightmares and have maze nightmares.
Last night I slept on his side of the bed and he slept on mine.
I had a war nightmare and he had a maze nightmare.
Maybe it's the bed-?
Here's a little joy for you today:
Catch-19 by anonymous, John/Rodney, NC-17
The IOA wants to replace John, but never fear, Rodney has a plan.
This is delightful partly because it's an inversion of several long-standing SGA tropes: the forced marriage, and the "surprise, John and Rodney discover they love each other after all." Usually the forced marriage is something John and Rodney don't want anyone to know about (almost always embarrassing and the result of an off-world misundersanding). Usually John and Rodney find out they love each other after a series of scrapes that make their physical attraction obvious (and one or both of them have been hiding he's gay, oh my). Here, the two of them are trying to convince the IOA of a completely bullshit marriage that neither is taking seriously at all.
Why do I believe this more than the usual tropes?
