Well, think of Karen McFaddyon's (sp?) fic. She posted them on the internet once, so of course it's okay to mail them around and post them as zip-files. Nevermind that the author herself has repeatedly asked not to do that.

She doesn't want her stories mailed around? Not that I doubt your word; it's just that I'm the maintainer of stargate_search and people have asked about her fics a few times. If that's what the author wants then I'll make sure that that message is passed on in future requests.
