Oh, hahahahahahahahaha!
The "student" protests against the Dalai Lama's visit.
They had a banner behind a plane.
A professional sound system.
Professionally printed matching placards.
Enough hand outs for several thousand people.
A carefully choreographed series of speeches (with loudspeakers).
Dozens of oversized Chinese flags with poles that were just the right height for walking (that's what I always bring when I travel to other countries -- my 4 x 5 foot American flag. With pole).
When I asked them the sources behind their handouts (including one with an article that compares the Dalai Lama with Hitler) "Who says this? Where did you get this?" they wouldn't say.
There were some big bucks behind this protest.

Date: 2008-04-16 09:49 am (UTC)Read an article in the tagesschau.de (major public broadcasting news, think BBC News) that they, too, have been attacked--including death threats. They investigated and found Chinese websites, many of them, sending Chinese to the tagesschau sites, telling them how to vote in polls and how to utter short anti-Tibet opinions in German.
So yeah. There's definitely propaganda going on.
