Sep. 23rd, 2003 11:59 amWe all know the drill, I think. Here it is anyway. Second these nominations in comments, or add your own nominations in comments. Please provide a link, Author Name, rating and pairing. A summary is nice, too.

This is an awesome idea, btw. Okay, some recs:
Flame and Shadow, by Maya Ron/Pansy, NC-17. One-shot. I recently told
selene_rain that if she only had time to read one fic before she died, this should be it. I stand by that statement. I suck at descriptions, but here's a representative excerpt:
"What kind of girl drinks and takes drugs and-"
"Oh no you don't, Weasley. You absolutely do not get to have a one-night stand with me and then lecture me on my morals."
"I DON'T have one-night stands!" Ron yelled indignantly.
Pansy gave him a long look, and then rolled her eyes. Ron clutched his bedsheet to him as if it was his maiden virtue.
"Well, I don't," he said defensively. "I mean - I didn't. I mean, that's hardly..."
"Any time you want to vocalise, Weasley," Pansy snapped, leaning over the bed and producing her dress. "And obviously, admit that I am right and you are wrong."
"We'll go out on a date tonight," Ron said triumphantly. "And then it'll all be perfectly decent."
Playing Dirty, by Sarea Okelani Draco/Cho, NC-17,
one-shot. author's description: sometimes, kindness isn't enough.
A Certain Point of View, by B. Bennett gen, humor. one-shot. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny watch Star Wars and have a ship debate.
Muggle Studies, by
slytherincess. Draco/Pansy, R, WIP (7 chapters so far). I'm not reccing this because I beta it; I beta because I love it. :) Author's desc: Fifth Year: Draco Malfoy loses a formal wizards' duel to George and Ron Weasley and is forced to take Muggle Studies as a consequence. Unable to resist bearing witness to Draco's shame, the Gryffindors and Malfoy's fellow Slytherins also decide to come along for the ride. Told from the view of Pansy Parkinson. Unexpected surprises and insights are in store for both groups. Oh, and of course snogs and more snogs. SHIPS: Pansy/Draco, Ron/Hermione, and we'll just have to see about the others! Realistic, Slytherin-centric story, with romance, humor, drama, and maybe a touch of angst here and there. Started before OoTP.
Levity,
by
rageprufrock. Post-Hogwarts/pre-Azkaban Sirius/Remus, R. One-shot. author's desc: Remus should have known better.

Date: 2003-09-23 04:09 pm (UTC)I forgot some warnings that just didn't register with me 'cause I'm weird like that. So:
Lacy Things: cross-dressing, light BDSM
No Happy Memories: character death :(
Through a Shattered Mirror: slight non-con and mentions of light BSDM punishment.
Sorry about that.

Date: 2003-09-24 11:40 am (UTC)I'll second that, and No Happy Memories too, which is the fic that converted me to the possibility of Harry/Sirius not being nauseating. And, while I'm there, Rituals and Traditions as well.
And I'll second Transfigurations and rush off to read the rest. Like your taste,

Date: 2003-09-24 11:46 am (UTC)And, Icarus, can I second Penguin's Hedwig fic that
:) cheers
Did I mention that you rock like a ... like a huge big rocking thing for putting this together? It's the best source of new fic I've had for a while!
