Okay, just from raiding my recs page (and thanks, Mark, for letting me know about this -- I ♥ good recs):

Some Kind Of Beautiful by Zillah: RPF/HP, Britney/Ginny. Britney's got a new girlfriend, Jamie Lynn thinks she's a little more than she says. Brilliantly written, with a dash of Snape/Harry as well.

in the closet by Michi M. Chu: Harry's having an affair, and no one knows with who...but when it's finally revealed, it's more horrific and more brilliant than can be imagined.

Faded Laughter Against Her Ear by Mary Borsellino: In the Black residence, after OOTP, Ginny finds an old portrait of a teenage Sirius. Very bittersweet delicious gen.

Photos by Claire: Oh, this is a perverse little piece of brilliance. Ginny/Colin, but with this really screwy Ginny/Hermione and Colin/Harry vibe, and a focus on wizarding photos that you so know would happen.

And The Hat Said 'Gryffindor' by Ciircee: Hagrid gen. Young Hagrid when he was getting expelled from Hogwarts, and how his life was, is, and will be. Great Hagrid voice, sweet ending, and just fantastic.

The Gift by Schuyler: A sweet and sympathetic Lockhart, a great twist, and it's all about Trevor. You just think he's Neville's toad.

Confection Carnage by Aspen: Summer, Harry, Ron, Popsicles, Sex. It's a PWP that just blows me out of the water.

Swi mming by Schuyler: Harry/Hermione/Ron, the slow progression of friendship into something more, and three days near water.

Oof. I think that's it. For now. I know I have more. Somewhere.

'Faded Laughter...' was just wonderful- sweet and very, very sad.
'In The Closet' was just damned brilliant. Just brill.
I am going to send lots of feed back to these authors- they deserve it, after all.

I second "in the closet" by Michi M. Chu

It's a deceptively horrorific a story, and until the reader figures out what is going on it's a bit confusing. But the ending—wow, what a punch it packs.

dang it--I can't type tonight. I meant "horrific," not "horrorific." *sigh*

A Scent of Memory (http://www.schnoogle.com/authorLinks/Letitia_Landon/), Letitia Landon

Sirius is dead, Voldemort is vanquished, Snape has disappeared . . . All Harry has left is a hostile raven and gloomy memories. Metaphor piled on metaphor, with a wry sense of humor peeking through.

Les Liaisons Serpentines (http://www.astronomytower.org/authorLinks/Tonio/), Tonio

You have to be brilliant to write a fic about Draco and his twisted relationship with all, sundry, and an evil illegitimate sister named Lamia, and get away with it completely.

Check out Ursula's work. She may be the less evil twin, but we still have the same sense of humor.

What a fabulous list! Yay for short, brilliant pieces!

I have to admit something: when [livejournal.com profile] michichu first published In the Closet, I skimmed it in about two minutes, so I picked up just enough to give my quick one-line summary, because I didn't have time to read the whole thing, and I really wanted to make sure the link got out there. I am so glad that I finally took the half-hour it takes to read this! It is honestly one of the most brilliant pieces I've ever read, fanfic or no. Ron is narrating what happened over a certain month so many years ago to us; his voice is easy and conversational and very Ron. He's describing how when Harry was with Ginny, he didn't behave as if he were her lover; he behaved as if she were a random person who happened to like him, and never has time for her. Ron had decided to do a little bit of detective work about this behavior, since he saw blond hairs on Harry's coat sometimes, and the more evidence he picked up, the more he thought that Harry was with another woman. (Pairs of ticket stubs for the previous night, when Ginny said that she stayed home all night?) Ron and Ginny decide to take things into their own hands with a trip to Ophelia's Optics (where you can buy nearsightedness, farsightedness, rose-tinted glasses, futuresight, or anything else that has to do with sight), and eventually find out what's really going on, which I can't describe, but it really is a perverse piece of brilliance. You have to understand that there are several narrative voices here, dominated by Ron's after-the-fact narration, and also the as-it-happened narration, and there are a few bits of Ginny and Hermione POV, and some snippets that won't make sense until the end. If you're seriously confused, scroll down to Michi's note at the end, where she explains it, but the story will explain what's going on. It is a really strange story.

I have to second Photos if you're putting smut there at all; it's a short piece involving Colin and Ginny using each other for sex and to get dirty pictures of Harry and Hermione; they help each other, but Colin really wants Harry, and Ginny really wants Hermione. It's twisted and and peculiar, but very involving.

Confection Carnage was just a guilty pleasure; Ron watches Harry devour popsicles and is greatly turned on by it, and it goes from there. I love the Ron voice.

I hope that you can keep this project up!
